Rear cup holder won't open

so you obviously have some issues its broken or something or needs to be snapped in place.

It was open when I acquired the car and I made the mistake of shutting it last week. I've been pulling on it and now the handle snapped in the front. It feels like something up above has fallen down. No idea what. Will I have to take the entire console apart to try to fix or remove it?

The only thing above it that could fall is the outlet

I had this same thing happen to me. The thing was
#1 you never think about it the mechanics behind it until it gets jammed.
in other words you never knew exactly how it becomes a cup holder
#2 you dont really ever use that because your always driving right?

I think I just grabbed it and pulled on it and it came out. I Cant recall
