Aluminum valve covers

Aluminum valve covers
I got a set of aluminum valve covers from a 2000 Frontier to use on my 2002 Maxima. The oil fill tube is too long to be able to close the hood. Does anyone know if another model has a shorter oil fill tube that can be used, it is held on by two 10mm bolts. Advantage of the aluminum covers is less flex and cracking and the spark plug tube seals are replaceable, so way less leakage. I will be looking in the u-pull-it yard I got the covers from for something that might work, if I find something I will add it to thread.

You may be correct, there was no identification on the donor vehicle and I am no expert on what model is what. The permanent marker info on the windshield said it was a 2000, but that may not be accurate. The valve covers do fit on my 2002 max, I have put them on without bolting them up. Now that I recall I think I tried to look up parts and the Pathfinder did come with a 3.5, but the Frontier did not. Thanks for catching that JSutter, I guess the VQ you referred to must be the 3.5 engine designation. There are always things to learn about specific engine families and I am learning about the 3.5. I have been doing all my own automotive work for over 50 years and have done a number of cam chain and belt changes on a number of vehicle, but this one is a real challenge, with so many difficult things to remove before actually getting to the primary job. I will be glad when I have it done. Of course Murphy's law is coming into play just about every step of the way.

That all make sense now.
I always thought it was strange Nissan doesn't offer tube seals for the newer engines. I need to replace a cracked VC on my 07 Frontier. I have to go new to avoid oil leaks.
Fixing anything timing chain related on the VQ is a chore. Been there, done that.

When i chose my 01 to clean up for a long term daily driver. Was for a longevity.
These 3.5's don't last on AVERAGE like the 3.0 does.
