Picked up a nice '01 20th Anniversary Maxima

Hi All,

I tried posting a thread about a week ago with my new-to-me Maxima, but for some reason it never got through. Just wanted to share a recent purchase I'm excited about: a 20th Anniversary with 130k miles (ODO is 210 km) - drives like a dream.. found it for a very reasonable price, although I wanted to start a thread to document the work I still want to do to it to make it as close to perfect as possible!

Pics when purchased:

Interior is in amazing shape. Paint is deep although there is some serious cobwebbing on the clear coat. Rear wheel wells have some rust. Going to fix that, do some cut polishing on the paint, install new suspension, repaint front and rear bumper covers, install the American 20th Anniversary body kit for it.... that's where I'll want to stop but you know how it goes.

Since I bought it, I did some cut-polishing and the paint came out better than I expected! I also got the front windows tinted to match the rear 3 that were already done.

The U.S. delivered cars had the Aero Kit installed at the dealer. Unfortunately the Canadian ones did not have the body kit shipped to the dealers with the car... the only difference between the two. Going to make this one U.S. spec soon

Thanks for the love y'all!

One thing I recently discovered that is quite unusual it has a forward rake. Rear height: 27 5/8", front height: 27"... not sure if you can tell from a pic but this is how it stands now:

I took a look underneath and the suspension looks old and stock. It must be original AE suspension.

Ordered new struts all around and some Vogtland springs to get it another inch or so lower... Also have clear front sidemarkers on the way, gotta get that orange outta there lol

I've seen several AE's but they were all manual. Didn't even realize they came automatic.

Funny you say that... was just looking at a local set of the 02-07 hyper silver coupe ones the other day. Good looking 18" OEM wheel.

Congrats on the find - from a fellow PNW member.

I'm wondering where you are going to find this OEM Body kit?!

Good luck
