Will any "inverter" work for cams on 7th gen swap?

I got 2x of these inverters https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/texas-instruments/SN74LS04N/296-1629-5-ND/277275 to DIY my own cam inverters with 12v to 5v step down regulators. Anybody here know enough about this stuff to comment?

The member that originally diy'd it or at least the only one I could find simply mentioned a hex chip and I have the same I just didn't know if the "logic gate" parameters/inverses would be the same universally? Or should I be looking more specifically and if so for what?
