Question and parts ID
I installed a new negative battery cable. I was removing the bracket the ring end goes on and the 10mm bolt holding it on broke. As Nissan 10mm bolts seem to do. Often. Anyway I didn't want to fool w/ drilling it out so I relocated the bracket nearby on the same part. I assume it will be fine but I may run another ground from there to the block later on. I found a hose that isn't connected anywhere. It's coming from the transmission. Pic 1: I'm guess it's a vent? In the second pic is where I relocated the ground cable bracket I mentioned. If someone could ID parts A, B, and C for future reference I'd appreciate it.

Congratulations. You are the winner of the 1,001 poster contest to ask about a breather hose. Johnny, tell him what he's won!

Is this a 3.0 or a 3.5? Part A is the sensor for your coolant temperature gauge on your dash, it is purely for your viewing pleasure. Part B is the coolant temperature sensor that your ECU uses, it has no interaction with your gauge. Part C is your coolant log, coolant runs through it, self explanatory. If you were looking for part numbers then unfortunately i cant help because im too lazy to dig them up lol. |

Strange, I've never had a problem with breaking bolts on the Maximas or even my 1st gen Z Cars. The 85 Turbo ZX was another story. Kind of a low point for Nissan all around.
The ground will be fine there and, yeah, that's a tranny vent. |
Yeah me either. Over 500k on 2000/01 Max doing all my own wrenching and don't remember ever snapping a bolt. Never heard of it either outside of people using impacts when they should not.
