6000K Hid's
 

I am no expert in the subject so I need help from you fellow members, I have seen the difference between our stock Hid's and the 6000k lumens Hid's and I want them, What do I have to buy ? Has anyone installed them ? Some people say just buy the bulbs, is that right? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Aftermarket HID's have the Bulb's, Ballast & Starter. It takes about probably no more then 30 to hook it up. Hook it up to the low beam and the other to the ground wire. That's all. Use T-taps..

You ONLY need to buy the D2R bulbs:
6000K Xenon Discharge D2R 12 volt 35 watt $145.00 D2R.

Somebody on here was selling them for cheaper.

Summary, 6000K bulbs look AWESOME, but produce less light than OEM D2R bulbs.

I've seen at the Acura TL Forum, some guys took pics of one TL with the 6000k bulbs with a TL with stock bulbs next to it, it seemed like the 6000k not only looked better but seemed brighter...If they actually give less light like you said, than I'm not interested...

The THEORY is "Basically the trade off is more Kelvin, blue color, for less Luminous Flux, useful output for the human eye", but I have not installed them myself to see if it holds true.

Anyway you are saying that if I get a non-OEM 6K bulb I could have LESS light? Crap....I am happy with them as is though....Uh Oh here come the future wife....

get the D2S bulbs they look cleaner and brighter than the D2R and they will fit in the 2k2 housing just fine

I was driving at night coming back from Anaheim , next to a Mercedes 600Sl.. That damn car's HID's were lighting up the entire road. My HID's looked like RICE LIGHTS next to it... We both have HID lamps..whats the difference.. I will pay to get that LIGHT from my Maxx !:eek:

They could use projectors, so they can run D2S bulbs which are slightly brighter and have more color, but that shouldn't make too much difference.

I'm just wondering if they run more than 35W systems. Now if we had 55-60W balasts, burners, and solid state starters, we could put down some SERIOUS light. :)

The cheaper route is to add a pair of high power driving lights.

I was thinking about HID 9005 high beams, or even HID H-3 fogs. That should look clean & bright! But my Eaglite highbeams are VERY damn bright. So I guess I'll just look into the H-3 HIDs for now.
