Thought it was aftermarket but when it rolled to a stop I couldn't believe my eyes. They were chrome factory 17's! Can you get the chrome package through the dealer or were these chrome plated by the owner?

CHROME STOCK 17'S

THEY DON'T COME CHROME FROM THE FACTORY, UNLESS IT'S A ANNIVERSARY EDITION, AND THEY'RE ONLY POLISHED THEN. I SAW SOMEBODY SELLING CHROME ONES FOR $1,299 ON YAHOO AUCTIONS A WHILE AGO. I'VE SEEN A FEW MAXS AROUND S.I.N.Y. ROLLING WITH THOSE AROUND, EVEN LAST NITE ON THE WAY FROM WORK I ACTUALLY SAW A 4TH GEN. WITH OUR 17'S CHROMED. IT LOOKED SWEET, I WONDER IF HE'S ON THE FORUMS.
PEACE

Chrome is an option I think they are 500-600 each

to be dipped in chrome. I was going to do it but I figured I would just wait and save my $$ for aftermarket rims.

So it is an option....and yeah it does not make any sense to pay an extra 2g's to chrome them.

That was an Anniversary Edition. The blue color is exclusive to the AE and the chrome wheels are standard on it. Every time I see one at a dealer it has the dealer plates on it because they use it as a demo. Can't say I blame them. That would make a good incentive for top sales for the week or month:)

the Midnight Blue is exclusive to the 2k1 AE. Maybe you saw one that was custom painted??

maybe it was custom painted, but that blue looked sooo good. i was standing there in awe basically. i just wish i had the midnight blue AE sitting in my garage right now.

What's powdercoating?

Have them polished out...thats the way to go or even powdercoating.-Peace

Was gonna post a question about the chrome rims, but luckily I did a search first. Anyways, what's powdercoating and "polish out?" I would assume polishing it is like using polish on the car's body so it would need to be redone every once in awhile? Stock rims don't look shiny enough. How much does it cost for polishing or powdercoating?

Here we have it...
