Feeling's on the Place Racing CAI for the 02'

Well on sat I finally installed the CAI. This thing is awesome, the sound is great. The power gains that I feel even better. If I new that this is how the CAI is I would have bought it for my 99 that I had. Pics will be up soon.

Post some Pics..but I doubt it has more performance gains than the Frankencar....I would love to see some numbers ...

Go get your car dynoed so we can see the difference between it and a Frankencar. This would better help me decide which to buy. Right now i'm still leaning towards the Frankencar one though.:D

Looks sharp. Did you have to do any drilling ? How long did it take to install ?

Thanks for the kind words this time :) I didnt have to do any drilling but others will because they drilled the hole for me. I went down there a couple of weeks ago so they could make the upper pipe for this car. So it just took a couple of weeks until I got a finished product in my hands. On this this the sound is amazing like I said earlier. It took me about 45 mins to do. Making that pipe the right way was a real B!tch cause these piped both have to be perfectly straight or they will not fit at all. Thanks again for the reply Kloogy, this is the first time that you have agreed/commented on anything I have done. Talk to you later.

LOL.. Im not a big supporter of CAI vs a regular Franken, but I like the way they set it up on your car. This would work well here in SoCal, since it really never rains.... Sharp wheels too ! What do you mean I never commented, or agreed ??

Remember the time about the springs and then the Navi? There was another time but I forgot what it was about. :D Before I did have the Stillen intake on my 99 and I liked it but the only thing that I didnt like was when it was hot and the intake was just sucking it all up to the engine. I could make this into a short ram intake. All I have to do is just put the filter on after the MAF instead of the piping then the filter. Ill see later this week and find out if there is any noticable differences just by doing that. I am going to dyno my car in a couple of weeks again to see the difference between my stock numbers and the new numbers.

Nice

So exactly how big of a hole do you have to drill? And about how far is the filter from the ground? Any prices yet?

Place Racing CAI..

I too am looking for an INTAKE... but i know this has been dealt with but can anybody clarify as to what the reprecussions are in having the filter in the wheel well??

My main concern is taht sometimes here in Toronto, there is a lot of rain and snow and i am concerned about ingesting huge amounts of water and screwing up the engine!!

Let me know because i want an intake ASAP..
