It's got the rear end of a 300M (w/ the quad tips) .. the curves of a Lexus.... and I'm sure the front end will have an aggressive scoop/intake/headlamps... I'm a big fan so far.. especially of that Merlot spy shot.

IMO, i think the max is startin to grow up. Im thinking the altima is gonna step in to take over the four door sports genre, but where would that leave tha max. Think of the commercials and marketing... no more driving so fast that the paint chips off grain by grain, or driving to catch up to the sun set. Im guessing the 6 gen commercials are probably going to be do you have any "gray pooo pon" type os s#!t, or some sippin champagne under a moon lit sky while sitting on the hood of the max with your loved one.:laugh:

I do like them. I think that the styling is totally out there, but that's why I like it. It doesn't look like every other damned car out there. Just like the new Z, it looks different. Anyone can have their own opinions, and I won't flame anyone for theirs, nor do I expect to get flamed for liking the car. I want to really see interior and specs. If I get one, it has to have 6 spd, navigation, and bose.

In my opinion the only thing that could save the maxima now is a rear-wheel biased awd system like in the gt-r, and as powerful a motor as in the z-car.

I'm hoping it will be something that performs like an A6 4.2 for 10K less, but that's probably hoping for too much.

It also reminds me of a GS430 from the side.... Nissan kinda took the route that Toyota took w/ their Camry.. they went for big and bubbly...

I don't know about you, but the 300M Racing Edition (or whatever that upgraded version is w/ teh 18's) looks nice...

I honestly get choaked up and feel like crying everytime I see the new Max.:bawling:

The maxima should, like it had always been, a leader in styling and innovation. It should have been people stealing design ideas from the maxima, and kept going there own route for the max.
Someone tell Nissan to "stick with what works"

"Lets combine the new 350Z looks that is revered with our already high selling and loved 4 door Maxima so people can get 2 in 1!"
This is my .02 amd I'm sure many disagree.

I like it, and my lease will be up just in time to get into a 2005. It'll give Nissan a year to get the bugs worked out, and give the aftermarket time to work on some mods.

Looking at BrianV's spy pictures you can see the lines of the Japanese market Nissan Teana...just look at Teana pics and I bet thats how it'll looke like.

Hey, just cuz some of you just invested in '02's and '03's recently doesn't mean ya gotta go hating on the new max... in fact, if it turns out to look better in person w/ more hp... that might just suck for some who value having the best of what's out (at least from Nissan that is).

I think it looks good. But heres what u people need to realize, this is a 2004 model, all new cars are starting to go in this direction. Can you even begin to imagine what the '08 or '09 will look like? Face it, this IS the future and there are no more normal looking cars. And thats that.

Hey guys...I think the new Maxima looks great actually. I've never been a fan of the 2000-2003 Maxima design - it looks to much like all the other cars out there. The new 2004 Maxima may have similarities to the Altima, but it's definitely more aggressive, more upscale and you know Nissan is going to make it kick the Altima's a**. I bet when we all see it in person (including the interior) we're all going to be drooling :eek:

nissan is just over hauling the fleet for the new decade. it started with the frontier,then the sentra,next was altima, now its maximas turn. the murano just might phase out the pathfinder. the xterra is a new branch on the family tree. if you dont get it look at the past nissan fleet. 88-94. look how the vehicles changed. then look at the 941/2 - 2000. notice how the whole fleet changed again. they even dropped cars. nissan is smart, very smart. imho there the only car maker whos second line of cars arent carbon copies. unlike toyota and there lexus line. for example. when im done with my 98' ill be on the 6 gen like white on rice. i like it. this post has been done imho.:fro:

The new max reminds me of a girlfriend I had in college...fun to ride but not much to look at.:laugh:

or 4 door speed boat...with that front higher then the back

That's why we do mods to our cars to make them look and feel better so I guess that's what we're gonna do for this Gen of maximas :D
