I see NO new Maxima's on the roads in Chi-town or the 'burbs
And when I do see it .. it's a woman, or several women in the car...anyone have similar "sightings"?
|
yeah i have seen pleanty, the maxima has sorta dropped down a class IMO, now a days everyone has one
|
I hardly ever see the new ones, but thats why i love it because not too many people see it then they admire it more soo, but thats just me.
|
I live in Wash DC, and I've only seen a few. Thats a good thing, cause I want one before everyone has them all over the road. I just don't want to seem like a "get-wit" lol
|
A Chicago south-sider, I have only seen 5 or 6 since they went on sale in March. On the other hand, the 04 would appear to be in short supply here judging from inventories at local dealers.

Not only has the '04 Maxima NOT 'dropped down a level', it has been RAISED a level.
The entry level (GXE) has disappeared, and only the sports (SE) and luxury (SL) versions remain. Prices now range from around $27,000 to $36,000. And, for whatever reason (hail, controlled production, etc), there are clearly far fewer to be had. By comparison, when I bought my 2000 SE in July 1999, the generation 5 had only been out two months, and there were plenty on most dealer's lots. And prices ranged from around $23,000 to $32,000. If I listed and detailed ALL the improvements of the '04 over my '00, this server would crash. I have about forty 'betterments' listed on the chart my wife and I used to make a decision as to whether it was worth 'MOVING UP' to the '04. 'Dropped down a level'? You must be meaning Camry or Accord. |
ive only seen a few 2004 maximas around the chicago burbs and most of them were silver se's.i got the red sl with preferred package and i love it. my friend just started a chicago forum if you want to check it out. http://drive.to/chicagoimports

Well Mr. Hill, why don't you list a few of the improvements to help me justify getting rid of my 2000 SE!!

The GN'S.....yea , they were fast!! I saw an 87 GN in the paper for 14,000 with 27 thousand on it !! No, I didn't have the funny back window! That thing was but ugly!! Why didn't they offer the 350 iroc motor?
That would have been a collectors car now! |
A loaded Camry and Accord are 30k also. Just cause something costs more does not mean it raised a level.
|
Keep in mind that the 04 has only been on sale for less than six months. It will be a few more months before you begin seeing them on the roads. considering that sales are averaging about 8,000 a month there cannot be more than 40,000 nationwide at the moment. While that's not a lot by Honda Accord or Toyota Camry standards that's right in line with Nissan's sales projections (100,000 annually).
To put this into perspective Accord sells about 30,000 in one month. Yet even at that rate it took several months for them to become a common sight on the roads. |

I live in the ever so over congested NJ/NY area and have seen only 3 on the roads besides mine. Dealers are having a hard time getting inventory. I'd also rather not see millions of them on the road as I like to think I have a mind of my own.

I brought my 04 Max SE Sports Package Black/Black two months ago from Woodfield Nissian. I live in Schaumburg, IL and to be honest I am starting to see more and more of the 04's out on Chicago roads.
|
I'm in the north burbs of Chicago... just the other day, within one mile of driving on the same road, I saw 6 other 2004 Maximas. two Silver, two Red, one Black, one White. The other drivers who noticed me are probably thinking "Hey, I only saw one Silver Maxima that day..." :)
Just because you don't see them, doesn't mean they aren't there... ;) |
