Stop Light in 2004 Maxima.....

Anyone know how to remove the Brake light housing in an 04' Max. I took out 2 bolts but there are 2 "stubs" that don't seem to want to budge.

REAR COMBINATION LAMP PFP:26554
Bulb Replacement EKS005AX
1. Remove rear combination lamp. Refer to LT-148, "Removal and Installation" .
2. Turn bulb socket counterclockwise and unlock it.
3. Remove bulb.
Removal and Installation EKS005AY
REMOVAL
1. Position trunk room trim aside. Refer to EI-42, "Removal and Installation" .
2. Disconnect rear combination lamp connector.
3. Remove rear combination lamp mounting nuts.
4. Pull rear combination lamp to remove from the vehicle.

Copy and pasted from the maintenance manual... All it shows is the 2 nuts and the wiring connector: 1st nut is sever inches higher than where the wire come through and the 2nd is just below.

The two nuts are all you need to remove. Pull the entire housing toward the rear of the vehicle. The housing has got some clips (I think two) along the fender side. You have to pull kinda hard. The painted trim around the housing comes off with the housing as well. Don't be scared to use a little force as it is needed to remove the housing from the clips. Hope this helps. I know it's not explained too well here, but that's the best I can do for now. I removed the housing just this week, and it took me some time to figure it out. The service manual doesn't describe the process very clearly. After you undo the two nuts start pulling from the top of the housing where the trim is and it'll come off.
