Something new for a change, thread on things we like about our Maxima.

How bout a nice BIG thread about some of the things we like about our Maxima with no NEGATIVE stuff.

Things I like:

BIG trunk
GREAT engine
personally, like the interior design
decent stereo for stock
SAT radio option
cloth seat design print with black interior is nice.
comfortable seats.....28 hours driving in them during Ivan evacuation
I like the sun visors, bummer they took the extenders off the 05
Front end with aftermarket grill......LOVE IT!!!
Rear end, I still love it, great looking exhaust tips for a stock car...quads.
Steering wheel radio controls....wonder how I lived without them for so long.
Sky roof, love it, great conversation piece, UNIQUE...and different
Stock SE spoiler, do not have one but like it.
Stock rims, I got mine with 20" from the dealer but like the stock rims.
Stereo gives song name on burnt CDR.....love that.
LOTS of interior storage space, love it, and I do use upper sunglass holder.
Fold down rear seats, love them.
Rear tail lights, like them too....alot better than the Altima.
Rear AC vents for the kid....love that also.

ANYONE GOT ANY GOOD COMMENTS FOR US ALL, let us start a nice thread. We all have some complaints, just want to wallow in the good stuff for a change, want this thread to stay up for a while since I have not seen many good posts lately. Hell, I traded in a BMW convert for this thing, and still am happy. Car has nice size, great engine, some nice lux for what it is....BRING THE POSTS!!!!

I want to be reading all the new good posts for quite a while so keep them coming.....

alright, wanted to wait for others, or bump up later.

All that you said.
Every single creature comfort.
Telescoping wheel... can have it down and out to drive comfortably, gets out of my way when exiting.
total audio package... song titles, wheel controls, just enough bass for me not to add sub (yet)
18's low pro stock
confused as a Z by some (Z looks)
Z performance sedan...FAST
smooth ride quality even though SE...love multi-link indep. rear
plenty of SPACE... 6', trunk w/ seats down=wagon?
Envious 5th gen owners, several confessed to me, others in denial
only complaints are very minor details by most here...none by me
HEATED seats and wheel, oh how i've wanted that
HIDS!!! plus my awesome crystal (super yellow)fogs
ABS, no more locking, or dead leg from pumping
super easy oil change...second one comming this week!!!!
my sunroof is GREAT!!!
2 seat memory for just me: normal driving and laid back cruising
power fold mirrors, not needed but really cool to flap her ears
Manual mode!!!!! gotta have auto, but love to shift. wanna pass at 65? down to 3rd, tap gas 100!!!!!
SAT, one day either SIRIUS or iPod
feel extra safe with a gazillion pillows if needed to cushin and save life
20/34mpg in this beast???? gotta love that.
screen tells u trunk is open, change oil, rotate wheels, program all the features i.e.door locks, headlight sensitivity, alarm, entry/exit, etc.
keyfob windows down, key lock up!!!! so cool: "dude, u left ur windows open?!?!" No, i just opened them. "u bastard." I know, it's so cool!
24 variable timing valves, VQ35 rocks!!!!
HVAC is so much smarter than me. dual climate, AC super efficient, defrost everything.

well some of these and more that super impress me may seem so-so to you, but i upgraded from an '88 buick for 7 years. Have only seen all of these features on the Bimmer.

Oh yeah, the impressed experession of those who ask what do you drive?

Ditto on most of the stuff you noted, but I also like the airflow through the A/C. My wife isn't as enthusiastic since she's cold-natured, but I love the fact it isn't shy about flowing the air. My Beemer and her Caddy both try to be so quiet and transparent that I have to really crank it down there to get some air moving, but the Max treats me to some good air movement.

Also like the sound quality of the engine/exhaust. I'm not one of those dudes who like rumbling exhaust or rice-rocket sputters ... an engine seems much more powerful to me if it zooms you along while hardly making a sound. It's like it isn't even having to break a sweat to shove me up to 80 just like that.

I've really used that split seatback since I sold my truck. I can get 10' lengths of trim lumber in the car by folding down the back seat and laying the front passenger seat flat. Cool.

After more than 20,000 miles, I'm still lovin' my Max!

I like this thread.

I LOVE:
How thinking about simply sitting in my maxima can make me happy, not mention imagine driving it.
The way the car feels and sounds when you start it...anticipating the drive everytime the car is started.
When driving it the feel of the engine even during normal driving makes me smile.
The feel of the engine when I really push it makes me smile real big.
Navigation system.
Heated steering wheel.
VDC - Saved me from accidents on wet roads a few times along with the ABS.
Bold stance...when I go into a 7-11 and come right out the second I see my car I have say...DAMMIT YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL.
How my maxima has a phat ***.
The comfortable black leather seats.
The feel of the steering and the feel of the steering wheel itself.
Xenon headlights are amazing.
Stock wheels are nice.
Going 100 and feeling like I'm going only 60.
Plenty of power low, mid or high end.
Plenty of room for me and all passengers.
Plenty of trunk space.
I always volunteer to drive during road trips.
Auto tranny is great. Electronic shift is fun.
Braking is confident.
Handling is excellent for a "family" car.
FAST. my previous car was a 95 Isuzu Rodeo.
Folding mirrors. I always fold them whenever I park in tight parking spaces.
Auto up/down for both drive and passenger windows.
Interior layout is beautiful as well.
Remote key fob works from FAR away.
Rolling down windows with key fob.
How I know I got an excellent vehicle for an excellent price.

Everything else that others mentioned.

I've always loved Maximas, everytime I see a 3rd, 4th, or 5th Gen I still drool. But the 6th gen is untouchable.

I love all of the above, and I especially love the 4-seat layout and rear console - back heated seats (although very seldom used) and the rear window shade.

The Elite package is another unique feature of our Max's that I would have a hard time giving up...

The heated steering wheel is awesome in these New England winters.

Six Speed Manual... oh baby! I, too, love the quiet power. Let the Civics put noisemakers on the back of their car, I'll still toast them with a refined growl from the engine I love so much.

I love that even though I'm 6'1", tall people can sit behind me with plenty of room.

Dual Climate Control.... never again will I have to roast while the gf/sister/mother is freezing in the seat next to me.

Auto down windows from key fob... how cool is that?!

Love my Max. Love love love.

Love the power.
Love the fact that I look at every other car on the road and think to myself, that's not as nice as mine.
Love the smooth ride.
Although my wife is getting sick of it, love walking in the door every night and saying "wow, I really like that car".

I judge my love for a car by how many hand washings I give it before I break down and go to the car wash and let them do it. So far it has been five months. That is five times longer than my Dodge.

I love:
-The heated sterring wheel and fold in mirrors.
-Dual exhuast and 18's stock.
-You can play around and shift when the time is right.
-Spending less than a Beemer or Infiniti for good performance.
-It looks great compared to other cars of its type. Have you even seen a new Galant? They try to style style it right but it looks real whack.

I love that the Max is unique, which is what attracted me to it in the first place. I'm not one to follow the crowd so to speak, so the Max was my kind of car. I love that I have sport and luxury all wrapped up in one.

I love being able to turn the stereo off and on and change from cd to fm from the steering wheel. I had a steering wheel control before on another car and it would only let me change stations and volume. I love the folding mirrors and the auto seat and steering wheel adjustments when you get in and out. I love knowing that I have the power to make a quick pass on a 2 lane road. I love that twice when I've been getting gas that people have told me how nice it is and I notice others admiring it. I love when I'm sitting at a stop light and I see people going through the intersection look over at it. I love that driving it is extreme bliss.

I love that fact that at 6'5" I can still comfortably sit in and shift this beast.

I didn't even bother looking at cars without telescoping steering wheels. This is my first new car, my first stick shift, and the first maxima I've ever owned. I never realized driving could be so much fun!

Now this is turning out to be an AWSOME post. Love reading all the responses.

Also love that some of the things all of you are liking about it, I forgot to mention. For the size of this car, it packs a pretty good punch. Man, some of you guys make me jelous of the options you got.....Xenon, Elite package, some good stuff here. Even just some of the comments on liking the fat rear end....I like it. Lots of POSITIVE stuff. Best thread on this board I have read so far and after reading the stuff, makes me feel like I just bought the car yesterday. Funny how the little things are so cool. I actually like the amber display. Best part, for a big car, it can surprise alot of people. AWSOME car for long trips....love the hell out of that.

I love how i can easily shut up an impala/caprice lover.....

I dont like to downplay anything, but the trend around MD/DC is that (94-9?)implala/caprice is the CAR to have and that its unstoppable and imports get no respect. today, on my way to the my service appointment at nissan, i punished an impala with moderate traffic. That made me feel nice.

making luv to ember(clean version)

She is the most sexiest beast(radiant ember) I know. Her stance(body), her power(265hp), her performance(3.5VQ) is so amazing.... she's so Amazon. All the foreplay with her comes when I'm driving thru town from stop light to stop light around corners , up and down hills and so on. Making luv to Ember doesn't start until I get her open(engine) on the highway, stretching her legs(rotation of the wheels) as she seems to like. My baby has some beautiful long legs. I know she enjoys it just as much as I do because she yells and screams everytime I push hard on the gas and shift the stick through her 6 gears. After shifting through 6 it's so smooth as we climb getting close. Most of the time we never reach our climaxes due to flashing blue lights ahead, slowing traffic, my wife telling me to slow down or just simply not enough road and time. Ooops, I may get in trouble for this. But I luv this girl so much you all just don't understand. Be advised my wife is sleep, I feel like I'm having an affair.

the color
the space
the skyview
the engine
the body
the options
the price
the trunk
the car.....so amazon.

Sat in a '05 loaded Altima yesterday. Closed the door and dang, was it loud... it may have replaced the Max in the lineup, but will never be one. Nice trim around the shifter and gauge cluster though. Seems like a step up, while the 6th gen inherited the old 02-04 Altima gauges.

Though someone on here posted that they had both a 05 Alti and a 6th gen and the Alti hasn't had any problems as opposed to the Maxima and that it was just as fast.. it's really lacking that special something about it that the Max has. It made me like the 6th gen even more.

I'm new to these boards but I've had my Max since about Jun of '03, I loved it when I got it and it depressed me to no end when I gave it to my wife for about 7 months and I ended up back in my 1999 Grand Cherokee!!! ad;jfakdja;fdjalfda (Had twins, her car was too small got rid of it, so I ended up back in my old jeep and she got my BABY I know WTF right?)

Well on Monday 10/4 I got the wife a '05 XC90 Volvo and it's been such a glorious reunion over the past couple days. Got her some new shoes (new tires), took her in for a detailing, and it's like a second honeymoon....

Just the feeling of sitting at a light and stepping on the gas makes me smile. That little push back into the seat makes me feel like my baby is saying, "just sit back daddy and enjoy it."

My wife is giddy about her new SUV but I think I'm more happy about getting my MAX back.

So to answer the question: What do I love about my Max? EVERYTHING-I've missed you baby!

Sigh, TITO HAND ME A TISSUE!!!!!!
