HID Question (factory)

I found stock HID setups for 350 each... what do you all think of this price and how hard is it to fit these into a non-HID max... is there wire cutting... etc... thanks....

I know someone else did a retro fit for $700. if this is a aftermarket HID set up you will have to cut and wire the set up to the stock harness. the bulb should fit right in if its a correct size...

it is not really a retro fit... it is the actual 04 maxima HID headlight.... i really like the look of the HIDs, but i am on the fence with the price and the labor... not sure if i should spend the 700 to put the lights in...

I am seriously considering this conversion on my Max. I will not cut and splice wires. Can you find these HIDS on ebay with the ballasts? That use the stock connection?

you can find aftermarket kits that are plug-n-play... and they are relatively cheap.. ~300... i have heard mixed opinions about the quality of these kits, but like i said they are plug-n-play and there will be no need to modify any of the stock components...

i have one of those kits on my bike and thus far it is ok.. i have some trouble with one of the capsules faulting from time-to-time.. i have to turn one side on, wait until it fires up completely and then turn the other side on..

the setup that i mentioned before are teh actually headlights, capsules, and ballasts out of the SL.. but since i have never taken my lights out and compared them to the SL i do not know if these will be direct connect.. my guess is no and i will have to cut some wires to get them to work... the other thing is that these lights are $725 shipped.. which is good for what i am getting (OEM parts), but it is still a lot of money...

i am still on the fence...

I had halogen on my SE, did a mod with xenon projectors, ballasts and bulbs. Splicing of wires was needed... the Mod cost $350 for everything.

As for getting OEM HID headlamp with everything attached, I believe its a simple plug and play. someone did that, i have to find the thread.

whatever you do, dont get those japenese kits 6000k, 7000K, 800k and up... those make the 6th gen look too cheesy.

Homerjay4242,

Thanks for the info, I will check out ebay but I really would like to stay with OEM even though it will cost me a small fortune.
