Loose/shifting seat

I wonder if anyone else has a loose driver's seat. I feel the slight lateral movement on turns. I thought it was just my butt sliding on the leather, but when I checked the seat, it does feel loose. I compared it to the passenger seat but that one is rock solid. Any ideas?

if you have tools I would make sure the bolts that hold the seat down are nice and tight before anything..

I had this same problem with my 2003 Camry since it was brand new and it drove me insane. Everytime I go in or out of the car it would move and clunk like an old beater. I tried checking the bolts but mine was because of the play or slop in the power seat linkage or gear. Nothing I could do about it. Glad I traded it. My new Maxima seats are both like your passanger side, rock solid.
Good luck with it.

Yeah, the sliding seat problem has been reported here by others as well (I also had it), and it seemed to me that changing the seat position changed the amount of play (right now, mine doesn't shift at all...)

I too had the problem but can't recall feeling it any time recently. Mine was built Dec 03 and bought Jan 04. I took it to the dealer I bought it from and he said he couldn't find it... but I took it back a few months later and he did notice it but after talking to other nissan dealerships, and takeing the seat out and back in, he said he couldn't do anything for it. Other dealers had told him that they had replaced the seat frame with no luck. So he wasn't going to do any more to mine.

But as Monotaur said, It is sensitive to where the seat is positioned, and I can't recall mine doing it any time recently. I could have also just gotten used to it.

Mine does it to 96 Se 5sp

I tried to tighten all 4 bolts that mount to the floor, all tight, and it still does it. I feel it move when i shift or come to a hard stop!

I get that too on sharp turns. There is like a tick sound when it slightly shifts. It pisses me off. I wonder if it wasn't put together the right way after I had my lumbar support motor replaced and then harness fixed under recall.

I had the exact same problem, it was the seat motor and rail assembly, the part the seat sits on. I went to Whitby Nissan 3 times with the problem and they kept saying it was fine. So I took it to Ajax nissan and they tore the seat out and replaced the entire lower assembly. Total Price.........

$1380 CANADIAN all paid by Nissan. :D

****z, mine is 2004. I was going to look for bolts that need to be tightened but it sounds like a serious problem
