Grill Option's

Gentlemen, new to the forum and i must say i am very impressed with the amount and quality content. Own a 04 SE, 5 months old....love it.

Anyway-

I gotta dump this stock grill, its simply horrendous. I have seen a few types on the forum , the E&G , trenz, etc. First of all does anyone have a good pics of the Trenz grill without the logo on a MAJ Blue 04??? Secondly, aside from the previously mentioned grills who else make OEM replacments????? I have looked for awhile but have only turned up 3 0r 4 different manufactures.

Your not by chance a friend of Josh's are you? If not just ignore that comment. For pics of the trenz grille and other things on a magestic max check my site out: Pics

Also check out this site being designed by a fellow org member, for all your 6 gen needs: Carcus' site

mystery man-

was the install a pain in the rear end or what?? i read the mod that one of the guy in the forum had to make in order to secure it properly. Did u take his advice ??

I just had a shop do it. I'm not very good when it comes to doing things myself. Personally i'd rather pay a little extra then mess it up myself.

I can't see it being interchangeable. I would think it will have to be modded. The US version has sort of a point in the middle on the bottom. Where as the New Zealand model seems more straight

the new zealand model looks like a 4 door scion TC

The grille looks like it is part of the hood rather than sitting into a cutout like the american Maxima. I don't see any lines above the grille where the hood ends like on ours.

My guess - No Fit. Too bad too because it's nice!

Im by no means skilled with working on cars, and Taking the stock grille off is very straightforward, 8 pushpins to pop out, and 4 clips on the underside of the grille to snap out, and it comes right off. The install of the Trenz grille with cutout is easier than taking off the original. Slide the 4 posts under the grille into the slots that the OEM one was clipped into, cotterpin the ends, and then push the grille up into place and put 2 of the plastic pushpins on top. Mine fit really snug, and I replaced the piece of plastic that goes over the grille and put 2 more pushpins back in that also. I'd say total time is 30 mins. Oh yeah, don't expect the symbol to fit onto the trenz flush, It dosent, But the 3M tape is really good and some on top and bottom of the emblem and pushed on really good will have it very secure. I went around the original grille with a butterknife to cut away the old tape on the emblem. As for the nut and bolt modification to attach the grille, For my car atleast, would be overkill. Grille does not move or shake, nor does it press against any of the surfaces.
