2004 Maxima Turbo Kits

I know you can go to a variety of places and have a turbo kit installed, but I was wondering if anyone knows of Nissan Certified Turbo kits? These dont void the warranty. Thanks.

There is no turbo kit for the 6th Generation Maxima. Someone may be able to do a custom job on it. However a turbo kit will void your warranty, without question.

Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)).

Why put a turbo on a 3.5 V6?.. Wouldnt u get a better bang for the buck with a Supercharger on such a big engine? Just my 2 Cents

hoserjose 02-17-2005 03:50 PM

Yea, you are right that a supercharger would be better - any sites?

VTmaximaVT 02-17-2005 05:06 PM

I thought turbocharger is always more efficient than supercharger.

turbocharger uses exhaust gas to turn the turbine. supercharger usually use
power from engine to force the air into the engine. so, at same boost turbocharged engine should make more power than supercharged engine. correct me if i'm wrong

I like supercharger b/c there's is almost no lag. and I like turbo cuz i think the
blow off valve sound is awesome...

either way, i'm just gonna keep my max stock...I've seen lotta ppl around me with aftermarket turbocharged/supercharged engine or spraying nitrous. and most of them has headache with their cars...

Just my opinion...

There are advantages and disadvantages to both. I'm fairly sure most will agree though, if you want maximum sustained boost... turbo.

Speaking of lag, I took a WRX STI for a test drive a couple of weeks ago... no lag there my friend. That car left like a bottle rocket! I didn't wind it up and sidestep the clutch either, the pos felt like a big block. Amazing. I'm going to check out a Lancer this weekend.

The Evo is great, I test drove one.

I am waiting for the SSR supercharger - expect 100 hp for about $3500

rabenoja 02-17-2005 06:26 PM

Yeah, the EVO is a great car. If I were looking for just a speed and handling, for the money I don't think you can get a better car. It's not that practical for me but, that car is just fun!

DeusExMaxima 02-17-2005 06:27 PM

NOt practical for either with 3 teenage kids. Boy I love it though!!!

It is cool looking, no doubt about it. I'm starting to see them around a lot too. I like that the Subaru has been out so long and so many aftermarket parts are available. On the other hand, they both come with forged wheels, Brembo brakes etc... So it may come down to which one gives me the biggest grin when the accelerator is pressed.

I have to be honest though, after driving the WRX the Maxima sure was a comfortable ride home.

Well when im done FIXING my Maxy I'm thinking to make mine a twin turbo... my boy here has a twin turbo Silvia w/ more than 1,000 HP soo if that supercharger don't come out soon, i'm gonna have to twin turbo mine.

vsamoylov 02-17-2005 09:29 PM

if somebody ever makes a turbo for the vq35, send me a pm.

Rabenoja - Being a former EVO VIII owner - I can tell you that if you think a stock evo is fast - and it is - a little work and not too much money will make that thing a complete animal - i did boost controller, exhaust, fuel pump - i was well over 400 hp - it was running at a solid 22psi boost- it was dynoed at 364 whp - It was just too fast for a family man. I thought i could control myself - however - i was wrong. Vettes, new v8 m3's, were no prob. just my .02

rabenoja 02-18-2005 05:33 AM

I can just imagine. I know that those cars have major potential to be a beast! I can tell you that the EVO I drove was completely stock and it felt just like an M3 (at least as far as handling). With some engine mods these cars are simply amazing!

JiuJitsuThug 02-18-2005 05:40 PM

EVO's are sick for the money - just not that great looking IMO... FUN FUN FUN!!!
