05 rear sway bar!!!

I just got my car back from Progress Group and they installed a prototype 22 mm sway bar. Too wet outside to test it but one turn I did do felt great. Totally flat cornering. I am told the production bar will be 24 mm and they are making springs which will be installed in about 6 weeks.

They said the Eibach springs were weak because they arent much stiffer but they do lower the car. These will be stiffer and lower car. Cant wait. Will keep all posted.

There is some unknown subtle difference. I can ask the guys at Progress since they checked out an 04 and 05. So far, the bar feels good, but its smaller than the production one. Still, noticeable imporvement in handling.

The 04 SE had a larger bar than the 04 SL.

The 05 SE and SL both have the smaller one.

Maybe too many complaints from the average SE owner that said the suspension was too stiff.

I have had more of a chance to check out the new rear sway bar. It really makes the handling much better as the front tires are planted much better. With the bigger production bar ,and the stiffer better springs, this car is gonna handle great. I cant wait.

Whats is nice is that it plants the tires better, so u can rocket out of the turn. YEEEHAWWWWWWW!!! The only 2005 Maxima with a better sway bar, proabably in existence, for now.

Then havent wound the springs yet, but they are doing calculations. I had some discussions with Brian from Cattman, and also Jeff at Progress. It sounds like they are looking for a stiffer spring than the Eibach and possibly two types of springs - one which is softer and another that is firmer for more serious racers. The drop should similar to Eibach, about 2" in front and .5-.8" in back. Ill keep you all posted when I learn more info.
