a few Questions for you guys.

You know what bothers me, when most of us paid $30,000 ++++ for this car and suppose to be the nissan flagship and the spare tire is a donut. My friends $15,000 car even came with a regular sized spare. Just doesnt seem right.

But my main question is, I am moving to Tampa Florida in June from New York and was wondering what i do when i have a problem that needs warranty work done when im down there. Can i just bring it into a nissan dealership or do i have to make phone calls to nissan tellin them Im moving??

I would assume they would have your record in any nissan dealership, so you would be able to take it into any dealership. Also, there is an option package available where you can choose to have a full size spare.

Full size spares are almost a thing of the past. The reliability of modern tires plus the donut's weight and space savings add up to no full size spare.

Also, as NissanFreak mentions, if you really wanted one, you could order it as an option. Many car models have the same option, space permitting.

if you wanted a full size spare, why didn't you get the VDC package that comes with one? I guess some people just want everything given to them. How could you buy a $30k car and not know enough about it or even ask about something you care so much about?

I know I don't want to lose space in my trunk.

yes, you can go to any dealer for warranty work.

The VDC package on the '04 was a $900 option that included traction control, vehicle dynamic control, and a full size spare on matching alloy wheel. I never considered buying my Maxima without this package, as I wanted all three things very much.

The full-size spare sticks up less than an inch above the tire well in the trunk, so is under the trunk carpet and out of the way.

Even at this late date, you might consider buying an OEM wheel and tire if you feel strongly about this. I would suggest either ebay or this site, as getting them at the dealer could set you back most of a grand.

you can take it to any Nissan dealer in US.

$30k VW R32 doesn't even come with spare tire.
it comes with flat-tire fix kit...for weight reduction...lol

The Mazda RX8 doesn't come with any spare at all....NONE. You canadd a space saver spare as an option, and lose all your luggage space as a trade-off.

no spare in a BMW M3. its an option (for weight reduction as well)

My friend has a 2004 M3 covertible. $70K and no spare :loser:

Full sized spares are retarded, especially as a selling point (one that VW frequently makes). All they do is take up possible trunk space. Since you're not supposed to drive on them for long anyway exactly what is the benefit?
