Headliner Removal?

Anyone know how to remove the headliner for the 6th Gen with electric sunroof? It's supposedly in the Service Manual but I don't have access to that.

I didn't think you had to remove the headliner to put in a flip-down... not to mention that on a 6th gen, headrest TVs are a better idea. But to each is own...

My money is on Ostrich... or suede... now that would be hotness.

But from the looks of it, anything that requires that much work is something I'm probably not gonna do...

You really don't have to remove the headliner to install a flip down monitor. If you have a sunroof you can use the brace as your mount. Just cut a hole in the headliner for the wires and you are good to go.

Yeah a suede headliner would be nice....I don't know about the ostrich though!

if hes doing a flip down he has to put a brace running across to support the weight of the tv, especially if hes putting in like a 15 inch flip down. otherwise that thing will be shaking like crazy when driving and maybe even bring down the headliner. and as for tvs in the headrests, i think thats a bad idea because the biggest screen you can fit in our headrests is like a 6 inch which in my opinion is too small. i think for headrests the smallest you should go is 7 inches. right now i am trying to find a upholstery place that will fabricate my headrests to make them wider so i can fit 7 inch headrests. i also want to make sure the headrests look stock and not all deformed. but anyways, i want to know what he is up to as well.

Unless you are doing an extremely heavy unit or a oversized unit, like a 15", then the sunroof brace is more than enough. It is actually a heavy guaged brace and not flimsy at all.

Thanks to all of you. One word "Dynamat". Actually Dynamat Xtreme. Doing the whole car, even the roof. Putting both extreme and extreme liner on the floorpan. May try the Extremeliner on the back shelf as well. To apply this stuff right and do a good job, it does take a lot of time and some cuts on the hands but it does really work. I'm still wondering how many dB's I can reduce in road noise. I'm building a SQ audio system taking my time doing so. When I am finished I will have done it all myself and should have one heck of a good SQ system. Thanks again for the very helpful info. Maybe NISMO will sticky this one.
