That looks nice....I'm not interested in getting bigger rims for the ride and I was thinking about doing this as well.....about how much did that cost you to do and does the finish last long?

pae1215 Aug 12, 2005 05:45 AM

The rims were $550 plus $200 to ship back & forth.

As for quality, theyre ok. theyre dipped so its not the longest lasting wheels. OEM chrome will last much longer. But you get what you pay for. Thats why the OEM chrome wheels are double-triple the price

thanks, that looks great. looks like im gonna have to order them

FWIW, I had the dealer take off the chrome wheels and replace them with stock wheels (with a rebate for the chrome wheel price).

To me, the chrome was a bit much, but some folks like them.

Note though that these wheels are kind of heavy IMHO. You might be able to shave a few pounds of weight by going with an aftermarket wheel.

pkane3 Aug 12, 2005 07:48 AM

Since one of my rims got pretty beat up a few weeks ago (by someone trying to jack them), I got a new set of 18" wheels to replace them. I thought they would be temporary, but I love them.

Take a look at my G35-Maxima

pkane, those are sweet. Call it the G-Max ...btw did you get them off ebay? Theres a guy selling replica g35 wheels that are hott looking from ebay. he didnt have chrome, so thats why i went with what I have.

as for having heavier wheels. I'm not racing the max, so the few pounds more is worthless to me. plus I'm a chrome fanatic!

I have a set of chrome dipped 18' OEM wheels in EXCELLENT shape with Yokohama AVS ES 100's (5Kmiles on them) that I am going to be selling. If anyone here is interested hit me with a PM.

Here's a pic but with the old Goodyears on, not the Yoko's...

G-Max , Hell yea.
I also, didn't mind the extra weight. They go along with the "Clean-Look" theme of my car.

Thanks, PaL

this is how I feel also... thats why I went with 22's... even with all of that weight on, my car is still quick and my @ss still gets pushed in the seat as well..

so don't worry about loosing much power with added weight, this car will push it no matter what..

Looks good I was thinking of something like that down the road also. I like the look of the stock wheels. I wish I would have had them put them on at the dealer now! Oh well I can always get them later.

pkane,
you took my idea!!! Just kidding looks sweet, and now I finally know what the rims look like on a 6th gen!!!

My dealer said that I could trade in my factory alloys along with 500 and get the chrome ones.

If you mean the factory chrome, that is a 5 spoke wheel. I just didn't think it looked as nice as the stock rim. The stock rims seem to have a nice "cut" or angles on them. The Nissan 5spokes look kinda plain to me. I got mine from ebay for $620 and I got to keep my stock alloys....putting them on this winter.
