New 6000K HIDs and Fogs

Just installed 6000k Philips Ultinons last night to go with the 6000k Helios fogs. Do you think Nissan could make it any harder to replace bulbs? I also rewired the fogs so that I could close the caps. What do you think?

Dis you have hid's to begin with or was it a conversion kit. If it was a conversion how hard was it to put in. I just had a nightmare experience with the helios kit.

Drilled holes through the caps, cut the wires for the igniters then reconnected with butt connectors.

No, I used a flat head screwdriver to pop the middle of the clip up then I pull it out.

ok...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please forgive the lack of pics, my ride is at the dealership again for allignment and break pulsation.

Anywhoo..

1) remove stock air box
2) remove front ram air scoop and front grill.
3) remove left plastic trim
4) unscrew windshield wash fill tube.
5) unscrew fog bulb back cover and unclip negative terminal from it.
6) unclip the positive terminal from the fog location bracket.
8) repeat on the other side.

TRICKY PART

9) when u remove the fog cover you will have to pull out the wire in it, just cut the rubber trim around the wire and pull off the fog back cover.

10) ok so you have your new H3 HID bulbs, they have a rubber gromet on them. That rubber gromet will have to fit onto the fog back cover bracket. I used a dremel to cut in the back cover bracket hole a bit bigger to accomondate the larger rubber gromet.

11) put gromet in the fog back cover.
12) adjust wires to desired length.
13) insert the fog bulb into the fog bracket assembly and adjust wires as needed through the rubber gromet.
14) close fog back cover bracket.
15) you should now have two wires coming out of the fog back cover assembly.
16) mount your igniter, I used 3M double sided velcro tape to mount the igniter on the inner side of the D2S main bulb location, right beside the fogs.
17) mount your ballast, I used 3M double sided water resilliant tape to mount the ballast on the inside of the bumper assembly, on top of the horizontal crosbeam. (the part that holds the bumper in place, on either side of the grill.
http://www.watsonsglen.com/Kam/Maxi...it/S3600307.JPG
18) run your cables through wire loom, under neath the light assembly, inner most corner.
19) connect the loose (old) fog cables to the ballast connection.
20) connect ballast to igniters.
21) tape off the connections with electrical tape and place it inside wire loom.
22) repeat on other side.
22.5) TEST TO MAKE SURE THEY WORK. IT THEY WORK GO TO 23)
23) re attach all trim, intake, grill and forced air scoop.
24) drive at night and see like an owl.

OK, KAM, great write up but here are some questions i have. JoesRedMax is also helping me on this, but again there are things taht are not actually clear to us non-electrically inclinded..

First off i have the HELIOS HID H3 Mini KIT 6000K.. This needs to be made clear because not everyone has the exact same set-up.
http://img40.imagevenue.com/img.php?...c_DSC02803.JPG
it look similiar to this except the bulb shown with the 2 connection yellow and black wires, my kit has a (H3 MINI) BULB with a red and black wire running straight to one yellow plug connection, that runs to the igniter when connected.

2. If is completly connected, i will have to attach the end connection (red and black wires coming from the ballasts) to the Stock Harness red and black wire connection that was cut from the wires going into the black cap.

3. Then i would have to remove the wires from the stock black cap that run to the bulb inside the cap.

4. Next cut the wires red/black that run from the bulb, and run the cut wires through were the original wires ran through the black cap.

5. Reconnect the cut wires from the bulb, inside the cap, then put bulb into place, and latch down with stock clips.

7. Close Cap, and that should be it.. Ofcourse connect the igniter to the bulb (yellow plug) connection , and then to the ballast connection, and that should complete my set-up.. (ballast already connected by red and black wires coming from the stock harness)

Please inform me that this should work, or is there a step i am missing besides the places to mount your ballasts, and igniters...
