New 6th Gen Minor Engine Bay Mod

OK, upgraded my engine bay to include strobes and Stinger Gold PRO Digital Battery Terminal with Red Display. Nothing big but I will admit, IMO, looks hot...

Ebay motors, the are custom made for Optima power cells, just do a search for Optima Battery Brackets on ebay motors, different styles will come up, good luck and thanks for the feedback...

If the engine is hot you run the risk of cracking something... which obviously would be a bad thing...

If you spray the intake, you risk water getting in through the throttle body (especially if you don't have one of the intakes with a water diverter) and then you'll experience the joys of hydro-lock...

Most of the electrical stuff is relatively safe to spray, but I wouldn't chance it. At the most I'd say use a mist (like that Mr. Clean autodry has) or do it by hand... or have the car detailed and let them deal with the dirt and grime...

Are these cars really that delicate? Mind you that I have no interest in a highly accessorized and detailed engine compartment such as yours, but I've used Simple Green and a garden hose along with the occassional pressure wash to keep the engines of my mostly GM vehicles clean and degreased for years with no ill effects. Just keep things out of the alternator. Seems the intake should be similarly easy to avoid or cover as well.

OK it won't kill your engine, however the power sprayers can force water through gaskets, fuse boxes, loosen wiring harnesses and potentially get into wiring that would normally not be exposed too the elements, you also want to ensure if the engine is Hot, the water is not real cold. And if you must spray, let that baby dry out good before starting up so your dash doesn't light up like an Xmas tree.

I clean my engine with regular Windex, some Armor-All, and paper towels, every month I might polish the chrome parts, the more you clean the engine, the easier it is and the time to clean it actually decreases. (my engine cleaning time currently runs around 15 minutes Max), Peace Bro

No problem, maybe the next time I swing up to RedLineMax in Bowie we could meet somewhere in the middle or you can drop by Corey's house and meet Mr RedLine himself also. My boy Ramberg is coming down from NYC with his wife for a visit at my home this weekend, I always do my best to hook up with other Org Brothers and take pictures and swap ideas... Peace, hopefully soon we'll hook up, you can also PM me if you think you want to come down to Lex Park, MD...

I wasnt too big on engine strobes. I must say though, with the way you have everything setup in there it looks very nice. I like that pro digital meter too. I might have to look into that.

this light stuff is a deffinate do, I went to a small car show and it darkened out and my engine bay didn't look so good out in the dark, so lights and strobes are a must do just for that...

Thanks bro, the Megameets (4/5/6) in Manassas Va are night shows and it sucks when you spend a lot of time to prep your engine only to have the lights go out on you, it's also a good nighttime show draw, got lots of props from visitors. Peace

Niiiiice!

Chernmax, your engine bay mods are SICK SICK SICK - JUST TOO MUCH! Wow, what a job! I don't ever see myself headed in the direction you have regarding mods, but I think you have done fantastic work! Thanks for posting and explaining. Before your post, I never even knew such mods were an option. I learn something new everytime I go to this site, and learning about mods like yours are both enlightening and entertaining.

Thanks for the feedback, wait till you see my next engine mod, TBD first week in December. I think people will like it. I am not going for extreme, however my goal is to make the engine bay just as entertaining as the exterior during shows and meets. Peace bro
