MaximaThefts
Well it looks like our 6th gens are becoming popular with the thieves. I live in RI and work with a woman who is 72 and has an 04, yes 72. Any way, she lives in a pretty upscale neighborhood, while she was sleeping Saturday night theives put her car up on orange crates and stole her wheels and headlights. The ***holes even left the locking lug nuts next to the car. Needless to say she was very upset. When she called the cops they said that 4 other 6th gens in the neighborhood were also robbed that same night. Glad I keep mine garaged all the time. There will always be jealous people in this world who have to take things from people who work hard for them.

hope those ***holes rot in hell!!!
|
WOW...LOOK...IT'S SNOW:jump: :topic:
Well back to topic... I guess I'll have to rig up some kind of electric fence to protect my max...I have no garage for night time :ugh: |
Security Cameras
I have been wanting to put up a few outdoor security video cameras around my house for a while now. One monitoring my driveway area and front door, one monitoring the backyard and one more somewhere else, this maxima theft makes me feel like getting this done sooner. I am going to look into it more now
|
What A-holes! They will get what they deserve sooner or later.
|
i wish i owned a garage..plus it would be easier to keep the max cleaner.
|
Yeah, I heard the 6th gen Max 18's are a hot item to steal. That sucks cause mine are chrome!
|
Actually, it depends on where you live before we can determine the definition of UPSCALE. On a side note, glad I sold my OEM rims. Last, most upscale areas have garages!!!

Well my old 200+ thousand dollar house had a 2 car garage. but the 400,000 one has a 1 car garage. Hey chris is my neiborhood upscaled? I think it was unitll I moved in. The problem really is that monst people have other things in their garages besides cars, which in turn makes them keep their cars outside at night

Yes, your neiborhood is somewhat upscale? The only impact you made when you moved in was I noticed more security lights and fences were installed and an increase in Rottweiler dogs. http://zooclub.biz/img/1/3/14/124/623/1253.jpg The problem really is that monst people have other things in their garages besides cars, which in turn makes them keep their cars outside at night Regardless :support: |
I hear ya Redmax. Lots of junk in the garage not nearly as important or valuable as the cars...
I saw a show on Discovery TV the other week about two men (ex-burglars) who run a home security business. It caught my eye when they took the family and put them in a van with CC cameras and turned one of the guys loose to see if he could break in and steal stuff. He stold credit cards, the child's savings, cash, guns, keys to the new SUV and would have taken the Corvette in the garage if the flywheel wasn't messed up at the time... And since he broke in through a back window, the neighborhood had no signs he was even there, so he would have come back with a mechanic the next day to get the Corvette. He had the garage door opener in the new SUV, so it would have been a quick hook-up and tow. In that quick grab, he spent 8 minutes and made off with about 60K in valuables. So I cleaned out the garage that very weekend and got both my cars to fit in there again! |
I am Glad I have a garage

Some things to ask yourself: Are there more than 12 Liquor stores in a 5-block radius? :fro: I could build a 10 room, 5 bath, 5 car garage house in the desert, still doesn't change the fact I live in the desert. :nervous: BMW, Lincolns, Cadillac's sure don’t do sh!t at making the hood any more upscale. :werd2: |

I see this a lot in Florida; people buy houses with two, three car garages which they use to store their junk, forcing them to park their nice vehicles outside. I watched that thieves show a while back. it made me clean my garage, and rent a small storage space for my so called "I don't want to throw away junk". Now both our cars can be garaged at night.

RI was #7 on the most overvalued places to live in the country --- i.e. we get F###ed on everything --- at least the others in the top ten were warm climates and nice beaches..with the exception of us NYC and boston....RI sux and so do the influx of wanna be mafioso's tough guys --- I've been scoped out...followed home...the whole nine...if you have the chance to come here don't --- save your time and i'll send ya pictures

Anyway, does anyone know where the Maxis rank on insurance lists as far as their liklihood of being jacked? That would be good to know. |

I am Boston based as well -my place is less than 700 sq ft, no garage, no driveway, yet most would say my neighborhood is "upscale" - go figure.

1. Apparently, locking lug nuts don't do much? 2. 72 years old and she had locking lug nuts installed? Sucks no matter how you slice it. |
