New Amber & Wht LED's installed in front blinkers.

So I thought I'd try out the new Switchback 20 LED Combination Amber and White LED Tower Bulbs. I just installed them and they are sick!!
I know, I know - - - :worthless
But I want to wait until tonight to take good pics.
So when the lights are on they are a bright white (probably the brightest LED's I have seen to date) Then when you turn on the signal they change from wht to amber, and blink that way wht, amber, wht amber etc...It's sweet because they look good and are still legal.
I'll post pics and a vid tonight.
Sorry for the pre mature teaser post but I couldn't resist. :happyface

Here's a pic of the bulb itself:

You beat me to this - I'm also installing my bulbs today.

Can't wait - I hate the amber look even when all the lights or off.

MAXDOUT04 Jul 29, 2006 11:59 AM

Looks like good shyt man cant wait to see a night pic

BadBlackMaxSL Jul 29, 2006 12:04 PM

$25 per bulb? Not too bad, a nice mod. Do these need the part that stops them from flashing crazy fast?

Yes it needs the 3ohm load equalizer

Tek-Niq Jul 29, 2006 01:06 PM

awsome idea, but I hate white lights in the blinkers..

Ok, JSmith, can u do a brief write up on adding the new bulbs plus where and how to attach the 3 ohm equalizer after you post your pics?

Thanks.

I held off for a while (as you know) but I did have the yellow to match the fogs at first, which I liked. But then I went to the amber LED's, which were good too, but this just seemed like a great mod. The lights trip you out when they blink to amber...but as always to each his own!! :grinno: :gapteeth:

Tek-Niq Jul 29, 2006 04:02 PM

yea, that white look just don't catch my eye. some dude did it and I didn't like it on a onyx max.

post yours and I'll give another opinion..

SoCalMax05 Jul 29, 2006 05:50 PM

Jay - Yes I have the exact same ones - LOL

NismoMax80 Jul 29, 2006 06:32 PM

so when turning left,
your left light is blinking orange and the right is solid white?

i still like my setup of no park lights at all. chrome bulbs that blink amber FTW :woot:

DeusExMaxima Jul 29, 2006 10:46 PM

Jay: I guess these bulbs would be a good choice for my dark tinted tail lights, right?

I don't think they'd work because the lenses are still red, there's no need for amber bulbs back there...

jsmithsole Jul 29, 2006 11:17 PM

Ok here's a pic, damn they look bright (brighter than in person) And hopefully a video that works (the video does these no justice though!)

They are a little bright. Is there another one that is more like parking? These may attract some attention.

They aren't as bright as the pics makes them look (I had the camera on night mode) You'll have to see them in person. So RH getting any sleep lately???

DeusExMaxima Jul 30, 2006 01:02 PM

How bout a meet in Ontario on Fri or Sat night. I see a lot of people cruising around and it would be nice to have a bunch of 6th gens around.

jsmithsole Jul 30, 2006 02:53 PM

Sounds like a mission but I guess all meets can't be in "the OC" lol. Work up a thread and get some interest...

DeusExMaxima Jul 30, 2006 02:54 PM

Would actually be nice to get a bunch of Maxima's out there. I saw one 5th gen when I came across about 50-100 cars cruising around

jsmithsole Jul 30, 2006 02:56 PM

There is a weekly meet every tuesday, at fudrockers(i think thats what its called) down here in lake forest, right off the 5 freeway on el toro rd. although most of the cars are old musle cars, i dont see why not we cant show up and show the new musle cars,.. and eat some of the best burgers around:support:.
Just for the record that show its sick, i pass by every tuesday and belive me, some of those cars are sick!,

and J those light are sick too, but i think 1 in every 5 cops will say that they look like cop strobes and give you a fix it ticket,........ but im buying them anyways!!!
also do you have hid's? or regular bulbs?

MAXDOUT04 Jul 31, 2006 02:59 PM

Just purchased a set will show when they come in again looks hott

jsmithsole Jul 31, 2006 03:05 PM

Cool thanks guys for the props. I am stoked on the way they look hopefully the cops will leave me alone. As for them looking like strobes, not even close to as bright or as fast as strobes...
And MAX2DAMAX I do have HID's as for fuddruckers, I may check it out, it's pretty close to my work. Not this week though, off to Vegas for a couple of days...

MisterSparkle Jul 31, 2006 03:06 PM

Nice Blinkers! One question, the wire you splice into for the load resistor...is it the one without the stripe? As in the back taillights?
