Finally got my Max

Finally got my Max last night. It's a base 07 SE, but who cares, it still looks good. Can't wait to get to modding it up. I got it for $23,700 + lic/taxes. Good deal?

Welcome aboard fella x2!

Who cares if it is 'base'? Leaves more for you to do and less for you to worry about (wiring for power mirrors and all that).

Post pics and get started modding!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I got the Max brand new (27 miles). It still has power everything though, I thought it was the base Max....maybe it's not, I don't know. Anyway, I got it for $23000+ with the VPP discount from my uncle. I'm still not able to post pics on this forum though. Even if I was able to it would be from my camera phone and the car would still be stock, and you all know how a stock Max looks anyway. My first few mods will likely look like this....

1. 19 or 20" wheels
2. Lowering springs (only if there is too much wheel gap after adding bigger wheels)
3. CAI
4. Audio system (Can't find much info on which head units and/or navigation units fit. Also confused on speaker sizes. I've seen everything from 5 3/4 to 6x9 fitting in the '07 Max. Which sizes go where?)

I'd appreciate any input/suggestions you guys can give me on these things (which brands are better, where to order from, etc).

Adding bigger wheels will not change the gap. Your wheels will be bigger, but the profile of your tires will be lower. The overall height of your new wheel/tire combo should be the same as your stock setup.

Ahhh....you're right. Looks like I'm going to have to drop it. I've read alot of good things on this forum about the progress springs/KYB shock-strut combo. Any advice/suggestions?

Don't know yet. But I do know I want a "sporty" style wheel. Something simple, hopefully black with a chrome lip. Any suggestions? Where's a good place to order wheels from besides Tirerack?

It's black with dark gray interior.

BTW, where do you guys get your parts from? I'm looking for a CAI, but I'm having trouble finding any aftermarket parts for the 07's......or do parts for 06 Maximas fit?

Where is a good place to order suspension parts? I was looking for parts on Cattman's website and they only have parts for 06's and older. Which springs, shocks/struts fit the 07?

I just bought my first Maxima in November of 2006. I've been eyeballing them for about the last 5 years, and the new body style is finally just the way I wanted it. I also just found this forum today, its cool to see so many other proud Max owners out there.

I got the 07 SE, Black on Black Leather, 18" Chrome Wheels, 6 Disc Bose. No Nav, but shouldn't drive it out of town much so I won't need it. Needless to say, I friggin love that car. I've always had trucks or SUVs, so to get a sweet sports car is nice. That car is so fun to drive, it's hard to keep it under 80 MPH.

Question to the group: Does anyone else get the 'rotten egg' smell in the cab if they hit the accelator pretty hard? I have 7K miles now and I figured it would be gone by now. Can I get some help here?

Thanks y'all, happy to be aboard here.
