Smoke or Black headlights? You decide
So basically tore the front end of my car apart, just to replace the one broken light, did that, but then i figured, well since its already apart.....
Why not just paint the fugly chrome......
So I was going to do that but I cant decide on the color.
My girlfriend bought me the AT grille in Smoke with the Powdercoat black mesh. So I'm debating what to do with the headlights. BLACK POWDER OR SMOKE to match the car.
Deuski suggested to go with Glossy Smoke to match the car. I'm really starting to like that idea. How bout you folks what are your suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Kamski

I like the chrome housings, it gives it some color and I'm done with my head-light modding, as much as I would like to get the angel-eyes that smokedoutmax has, but too I just don't want the hassle anymore. HIDS+3k fogs+switch-back signals=enough for me

So the concensus says smoke, k, ill be dropping off my chrome plates at the paint shop tommorow to have them painted. So I guess I'm telling them to match the paint of the car? I love the black look but Smoke would be different too.
K, next thing is, who has their lights moded? Do yours fog up afterwards?
Chernmax, how come you didnt match the lights to the paint of the car? Anyone have a pic of the lights matching the car?
MMMM I cant wait.

So I dropped them off at the paint shop to get painted. But before I did I went to Chevy Dealership and took a look at the new vette. The lights are painted to match on those. But in all honesty it looked kind of stupid. It looked like the lights were just thease little holes popping out of the paint. Totaly unfinished look, as if someone just covered up some holes with a piece of glass.

So I was a little disapointed, so I went to Honda to look at the new Honda Fit. Which also has painted chrome. And well....

So in all honesty, the lights matching the paint looks odd. So I called the paint shop and had them go flat black instead. Non fuming, heat resistant paint. I just couldnt go through with the Smoke. As much as I wanted to see it on the car, I dont want to be re-opening the lights again to have it re-done. I like the black color Deus and Chern have, the Smoke was just not right for this application.
Ill post pics on Wednesday when I get the parts back.
Thanks again for all the input guys and gal.

In the end, its what you like Kamski. I LOVE the body colored lights. I saw a Ferrari with matching red inside the lights and couldn't take my eyes of it (other than the fact thats it was a Ferrari). Like I said, either way you go, its going to be great. Im surprised you didnt go with gloss black, which is what mine are.

IMO, match the Lights to the grill to tie everything in. Actually your in a win, win situation since both would look great with your ride. LOL, 50 push-ups cadet for this advice...
