Just bought an 07 SL!!

:woot: Hey guys, I finallllly did it! I got the 07 SL with the Drivers Preferred Package, Premium Audio and Sensory Package
Total came out to 31,370 with tax,mv fee's and what ever else included.
Does that seem like a good price? Picking it up saturday and cant wait!! I got the Charcoal Grey on Black leather. Was it stupid of me to go get an 07 when 08's are arriving within weeks? Anyway i'll keep you guys posted with pic's and what not once I get the car. The next 24 hours are going to be the slowest hours of my life :(!

Congrats ... As to price, I "think" you made out pretty well. Others will clarify that. Nice color choice too .... Wish I had gone with dark interior instead of the latte..... Again Congrats!!!

IWalkAlone2317 08-24-2007 04:51 AM

Nice!

Yeah, I'm jealous. I have been eyeing them up as well. I would kill to have an 07 in Charcoal Grey or Precision Grey. I definitely would get the tan leather, I just think it looks really hot that way, although I don't think you CAN get tan with grey (whats up with that?!). So, I'd end up getting the only car color, BLACK!

Congrats, drive it in good health! :doublethu

Excellent, but...:worthless

Matts04Maxima 08-24-2007 05:32 AM

Good choice, seems like its a great deal considerring that would run you atleast $3,000 more here in Massachusetts. Ya i'm very serious. :-(
But Enjoy her !!

Sounds awesome man, be sure to post up pictures when you have the chance. By the way, what tires did it come with? The SL that I test drove had continental tires and the ride quality was very smooth with very little road noise. Love it, but I preferred the SE with drivers preferred and audio package...but that's just me :P

Eddiesalsa 08-24-2007 06:11 AM

Congrats....you did well on your purchase...I also got the SL in Majestic Blue with Latte Leather...it drives very smooth... I just wished I had purchase it with the NAVI...

anwar1337 08-24-2007 08:45 AM

I was just staring inside the car and checking out the body didnt really glance at the tires but the display on the showroom floor had the conti's so im guessing that thats whats on my car too. Ill get pictures up tomorrow when I go to pick it up :D!

Also, chern while I was browsing through various car sales sites I came across a site that has modded cars for sale and saw your car for sale, did someone steal a bunch of pictures and put that up or are you really selling that beAST!?!

I bought a 2007 Maxima SL with everything except navi about 12 days back. The sticker price was $33,845. I got it for $30,000 and $500 cashback and 1.9% APR for 60 months with $5000 down (though I could have put less down but I wanted to reduce my monthly payments).

I also got the bumper to bumper warranty coverage for 7yrs/70K miles at about $17 per month until I pay off the loan. The salesman gave me another $100 discount from the price of the car for purchasing the warranty.

So my car price came to $29,400 + tax/title/dealer fees. Was it a good buy?

BTW, my exterior is precision grey and interior black leather.

largepkg25 08-24-2007 09:25 AM

OK, according to Carsdirect website the 2007 SL with driver preferred package is $27500 + 7% tax + $300 tags = $29725 out the door.

Could you have received a better deal? A little but as long as your happy that's what matters!

Congrats on the new purchase! I just got the SE version of this car and I love it!

The calculations aren't that simple. I assume the $27500 price is after $2500 cash rebate being offered by Nissan if you do not finance through them. Without the rebate, it is $30,000 which is what I got.

BTW, I also got the VDC and full size spare, automatic sunroof, and wind deflector. Moreover, there is a dealer fee which was $599 for my dealer. You cannot get a 2007 SL with everything except navi out of the door below $30k.

Congrats dude!!! Now post some pics!!

I never suggested otherwise.

I took the 1.9% NMAC 60 months as well. With this offer you must give back $2000 not $2500.

I agree, if you're purchasing a driver preferred package SL with sunroof you should be around $28500. That's taking the full $2500 rebate into account though.

As for the dealer service fees...Everything is negotiable! Especially the things they tell you are not.

maximadave 08-24-2007 09:50 AM

congrats on the purchase :festive:

How much was your dealer fee? I thought the dealer fee was non-negotiable though it varies from dealer to dealer.

Did you take any extended warranty?

I purchased nothing but a standard Maxima SE with the driver preferred package. Nothing else, although they try to put things like an appearance package which is a dealer item that includes pin stripping and the little rubber door moldings for $259. I told them they can remove them because I don't want them. They removed the pin stripping and left the moldings at no charge.

Like I said before everything is negotiable. The dealer fee was suppose to be $649 and non-negotiable but I explained to the dealer how much I was paying prior to any negotiating. I made it very clear that I was not paying for the dealer fee or any other item they were putting on.

When purchasing a vehicle the only thing that matters is the bottom line price. Nothing else!!! People get so involved with the price they paid for the car not realizing dealer fees, gap, warranty, interest rate, etc. add considerably to the bottom line.

Also, if you use Carsdirect website they will actually find the vehicle you chose and guarantee the price on the site. They along with many other websites work directly with dealers so it's always good to know this before purchasing.

So you paid $0 dealer fees? Thats impressive. Since you are in Florida too, I would love to know which dealer you bought yours from.

largepkg25 08-24-2007 12:27 PM

Coral Springs Nissan @ Coral Springs Auto Mall.

They all say it's non-negotiable but when you walk and they stop you or call you in the next day you realize quick how to play the game.

Again, you can use that website and get any brand new car on it for the guaranteed price they give. Notice they have zero dealer prep fee! That price is the bottom line vehicle price. Just add tax, tags, and finance. They will even do all the leg work for you. That site is by far the best tool anyone can have for purchasing a new car and it seems very few know about it.

Eddiesalsa 08-24-2007 02:20 PM

hey largepkg25 have you done any mods to your ride?

largepkg25 08-24-2007 04:05 PM

No, but I'm looking for a co-enthusiast to help me with or find a good trust worthy no BS mechanic. For now I only want to do the basic bolt on mods because of warranty reasons.

Mack 08-24-2007 06:34 PM

Post some pics! Oh and why did you go SL over SE?? The SL's are for old folks, hehe. :doublethu

ThunderMaxi 08-24-2007 09:10 PM

Congrats on the new Max, you are gonna love it... and the back-up sensors are bad azz.... also, if you point the side mirror setting to one side or the other, the mirror goes down for you when you are reversing... Have fun, enjoy it. I got mine in December and I already have 21,000 miles on it... hehehe

largepkg25 08-25-2007 04:52 AM

Yeah, the reverse mirror got my attention a few days after I picked it up. Pretty damn cool for sure.

The only thing I don't like about the back up sensors is they're sensitive. I always back my car into my parking spot and it picks up the damn parking stumps even though they can't hit your bumper. I know I'm nit picking here so like I said it's not a big deal.

bb700092 08-25-2007 06:48 AM

Once I was backing and it was raining very hard. There was nothing behind within 15 feet and my sensors were signalling very frequently. It seems they picked up the rain :)

largepkg25 08-25-2007 07:32 AM

lol, that's great

anwar1337 08-25-2007 10:44 AM

Haha thats insane that they were picking up the rain, my brother had an 05 LS430 and it would never pick up the rain. Well guys, picking the car up in about 5-6 hours, by then it might be dark so ill take pics tomorrow with an 8.1mp camera for some good pics ;D
