Not sure I'm "Feelin'" my new ebay grill

I found this on ebay for $56 including shipping. Soo I couldn't pass it up. I've been trying to save for the active tuning grill, but other mods keep getting in the way.
If I am to keep this one for a while I will for sure get it painted. Either black or hyper black/ smoke/ gunmetal, to match the wheels.
I'm gonna try to photoshop those colors tonight sometime, but I also thought about coming up with a new grill using this one as a "canvas" for bondo/ mesh. Any one want to give me a hand with the photo chop, feel free to chime in.

paint it black, the way it is right now looks out of place.

KCMAXX Oct 9, 2007 05:18 PM

^^Agreed. You get what you pay for...

Mack Oct 9, 2007 05:24 PM

Sorry bra, that thing is hideous. :(

Hilbe Oct 9, 2007 05:46 PM

Should have gotten the one with the Nissan logo in the middle. Look 100x better. Its made by Lund....

Majestic_MAx05 Oct 9, 2007 06:14 PM

That looks like the trenz grill i had a while back. You can painted black and it will look much better with your set up.

Majestic_MAx05 Oct 9, 2007 06:20 PM

Heres a quick photoshop with it darker.

Thanks for photoshop. The right hand side of the darkened grill looks like the color I was thinking of painting it. Looks like the "hyper black" color of the wheels.

Thanks, everyone for your response. I appreciate the honesty.

What if I used the aluminum grill as a "canvas" and fiberglassed this on?

First the fisher price grill and now a GTR emblem that you got for 15 tickets at chucky cheese! Come on whats next? If you have no style i say leave the car stock.

CaTalyst.X Oct 10, 2007 12:45 AM

Dremel it down to the frame, mesh behind the frame, paint the frame hyper black w/ gloss black mesh.

Machinist Oct 10, 2007 08:17 AM

That grille doesn't fit into the opening correctly, [too straight] there should be a slight "v" bend in the center

chernmax Oct 10, 2007 08:28 AM

Looks like a Trenz knockoff and before installing you should have slightly bent the grill for a more rounded shape, looks like it has wing tips...

Outlawd Oct 10, 2007 11:18 AM

Sorry to say but...Fail. Just stay on track and get the active tuning grill.

xoomer.com Oct 10, 2007 11:42 AM

Active Tuning or RedlineMax (if you can find one) FTW.

Or just gut your OEM grill, cu-off the tooth and instal a nice mesh thats powder coated black.

Your choice.

xorbitman Oct 11, 2007 06:32 PM

Hi Maxxx, Just thought you might want to see what I did with my grill (grill-friend) LOL!
The emblem is a Japanese Nissan trunk. I had to shave off the notch and I eyeballed it the best I could. Let me know what you think.

Sorry man, that think is Fugly. NO offense, I know what its like on ebay to not want to pass up deals.

philoforlife Oct 12, 2007 06:03 PM

Take the grill and throw it away. Get an E&G Classic.

Joshua

BadBlackMaxSL Oct 12, 2007 06:23 PM

That "grill" is the ugliest thing I've ever seen.

-Stevie Wonder :fro:

Fastmax05 Oct 12, 2007 06:58 PM

i would get an active tuning s41 if i was to get rid of the stock one

MaXXXpower Oct 12, 2007 07:11 PM

Again,
Thanks for the Honesty everyone. That thing doesn't work on a black max.
I took it off after about 24 hours, and put my stock one back on.
I painted It black, the nissan burger's circle is now black withe the center stripe left silver. I took the black off the "NISSAN" word in the center stripe and left that a shiny chrome, then took some 600 grit sandpaper to the chrome center strip and made that a "brushed" metal look.
I'll get some pics up in another thread.
I've been trying to save the $300 for the active tuning s4.1 grill but keep spending on other 'lil mods.
Next on my list.
Window Tint.
Zinc plated Rotors.
Paint Calipers.
Ypipe
I.M. Spacers
Magnaflows/Remus mufflers
Headers(cattman's, when available)
TS ECU

Punky Oct 12, 2007 07:44 PM

Good choice, i dont dig it either.

I meant this one...

Maxx. . . just save up man and get a grill from active tuning...

Mack Oct 12, 2007 09:47 PM

LMAO! Yep I agree with Fastmax. Althought it seemed like a $hitload of $$ to pay for the AT grille, once I got it on it was worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. Seriously!

Take it off. It doesn't go with the shape of the front end.

But off subject what is up with this new forum. It use to be so organized and now it doesn't have any structure. Every thread is just shown. Well I was gone for about two months cuz my hard drive crashed. I log on and can't find anything or do anything. Any way I hope this gets better.

Kyle00 Oct 15, 2007 12:38 PM

to the OP, here'a another quick photoshopped pic. I guess this would be like a hyperblack color

opanick Oct 20, 2007 07:13 PM
