Shifter Gate replacement 08 SE

I've not seen anything about this but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I've got an 08 SE and the only interior piece that really bugs me is the shiny shift gate for the cvt. Does anyone make a replacement part that wont blind you when the sunroof is open on a sunny day? The polish seems to be prone to scratches as well. Something in the brushed finish would be great or a bit of carbon fiber. Thanks all. Frank

I AGREE. I have the same car and the same problem. I just replaced my shifter handle with a MoMo handle to create the same 'brushed aluminum' look, but the chrome thing is killing me too.

same here on my 07..that plastic piece is a of POS, it scratches so easily. Sometimes I don't understand how parts like that make it onto a car.

I have emailed a company that specializes in this, however they offer a 'complete' kit. I am waiting on a response, so please be patient and as soon as I know something I'll post it. If we get enough of a 'need' for this, I might be able to create a group buy or something.....all this depends on what the company says.

You should hack-saw off the top of the shift post so that **** sits lower. I did that with my 95 maxima and it looked way better, although the 95 manual had a much longer post.

IMO, it will look way better with the shorter post, but you will never be able to put the factory **** back on right.

Well I got the response...not what I was hoping for.....

Hi Joshua,

Thank you for visitng our website. The manufacturer of the dash kits that we sell won't allow us to deviate from the original kits another words they don't allow us to order individual pieces from kits. Also they don't do custom work so sending them the part from your vehicle is not an option, sorry.

Thanks,
