Clear spoiler light

Just to do something different I replaced the red lense with a clear lense.

Is the spoiler a lot brighter without the red lens?

When you hit the brakes the light output is the same. You can't really see the lense unless you walk right up to it. I thought this was going to be a "frosty" white like some clear lights but its clear like it should be.

Thanks, since people like to brag about doing things first around here. Then I'm the first 6th gen with a "clear" 07-08 spoiler light.

Question. Isn't this against the law? At night when you step on the brakes the driver behind you is going to get hit with a white light. Otherwise it looks good.

No, its legal. The bulbs are RED. When you hit the brake its red light like normal. There are some cars that come with a factory 3rd brake light. I've seen the new Camry's with a clear 3rd brake light on the rear deck.

Last pic shows red.

Yeah, its an ebay spoiler painted. I thought about ordering smoke but then changed my mind. I think smoke will go great with your tail lights.

Anyone that had the spoiler put on aftermarket also install the rear deck cover over where the 3rd brake light was or has everyone just left it in and disconnected it?

Thanks.

I know that's what I was thinking...who did you buy yours from? I got mine from spoiler solutions but they no longer show up anywhere on EBAY, not sure if all the aftermarket ones are the same design. Also no blk or smoke on their site. Maybe I'll get clear and tint it, is it the 14.5" version?

Got mine from Spoiler Solutions too. When you go to http://forums.maxima.org/6th-generat...ilerlights.com you have to click on either clear or red and you'll see other options for smoke, yellow, blue, green and pink. Other options are shown in red, just click on one and you'll see pics. Our spoiler light is 16.5"
