I've been watching the threads for 6th gen maxima's with the vast amount of A/C problems for awhile now. Does anyone know of a recall for the A/C unit out there?

Automotive recalls are generally only for safety related concerns. The performance of the air conditioning system would not be considered a threat to safety, although it would be quite annoying.

But like you have discovered, there are several other 2004+ Max owners with the similar issue. Add that to all those people who never visit a website like this one, and you can see that it is a known problem. But no recall exists.

If you are having an issue with your car's AC, have a qualified shop verify the amount of refrigerant in the system and check for leaks.

there have been recent threads on A/C issues. you are thinking about a TSB. there is a database linked in the Problem Sticky. w/o a warranty, you have to pay for it to be fixed regardless.
