Sea Foam in a 6th gen???

recently bought an 04 maxima...not sure of what maintenance has been done...in 2 weeks (hopefully) i'm getting an oil change, and rear brakes done. i've been thinking for getting some seafoam for the car but wasn't if it was possible with a 6th gen...can anyone tell me...if its possible...how to do it, and is it worth the trouble???

I dont think sea foaming the Max would be a good idea. From what Ive seen back in my honda days, a member on the Honda-Tech forum tried it. Than he pulled his motor apart and the motor was still all gunked up. The only thing it did was make the car smoke like crazy...and from what I heard it was not a good idea to use it because it will rot/dry out the seals internally and cause other problems down the road.

IMO I dont think you should do it. The car is still young, just get your oil change done asap if its pass over due...and just keep up with the basic maintenance.

Stay away from the Sea Foam.

Want a clean engine? Use synthetic oil and premium fuel or tear your engine apart and clean t by hand.

I never had a problem, the two times ive done it...I advise you to keep the motor running though. Avoid spraying the intake area, and directly on harnesses.

I have done it to mine many times. My engine gets oil/gunk sprayed onto the alternator and that area of the engine. I spray the engine after I warm it up a bit, never on a hot engine. I don't spray too hard around dipsticks or electrical.

For electrical connections, I use CRC QD Electronic cleaner. You can actually cleanup anything on the engine with this stuff. Works real well.
