Got my car back
 

After a week, I finally got my car back from the dealership. They replaced the tranny, but my questions is now I see white smoke coming out the tails, it wasn't doing that before, should i wait a few days to see if it stops or take it back up to the dealer? I gotta go back up there, they broke 4 of my puddle lights with the lift, i wonder if they are going to reimburse me for those...lol

If you see it coming out constantly I would take it up there immediately. That way they dont try to pin it on you for having the car for about a week or 2.

Is it cold outside when your noticing this? and you only see it when you get on it? I know when its cold outside, my Max always have this whitish smoke constantly coming out when I get on it. I dont think its smoke though, just heat coming out the exhaust mixing with the cold...like how we breathe when its cold outside.

Yeah it's kind of funny. But most cars after they warm up in the winter they stop blowing the white vapors out of the exhaust but the Maxima doesn't it continues even after it has warmed up.

white smoke usually means burning coolant. blue smoke oil burn. black smoke WAY too rich

With most cars, the white water vapor does diminish after they warm up, but with our cars it doesnt, when its cold outside. I can always see the water vapor in my rearview mirror when I'm at a stop light.

If your car is really smoking and NOT spewing water vapor, then I would immediately take it back to the dealer. Check Oil and coolant levels also.

I can't see why it wouldnt be just like before if they only touched the transmission.

like mentioned above white smoke is coolant being burned through the engine and exhausted out the pipes which can cause alot of problems if that's the case. I would take it back right away. you can tell if it's coolant by smelling the exhaust. If it smells sweet than it's coolant. Also take the oil fill cap off and check for condensation or milky residue. that is an indication of a blown headgasket which is usually the cause for white smoke out the tail pipes. if so make sure they take responsibility and make them pay for you lights because that is their fault. no matter how they try and make it yours it is theirs. they should have looked before puttin it on the lift. I had my led underlights paid for by a tire shop because they didn't look before putting it up on the jack. tried to tell them as he was jacking it up. Idiots lol.
