Anyone run this setup?

I'm new to the forum and recently purchased an '08 Max. I've tried searching for a thread or someone who has only the b-pipe from Cattman but I've had no luck so I apologize if this has been covered before. I am interested in purchasing the Cattman b-pipe and keeping the rest of the exhaust stock (for now). I like the look of the stock muffler/tips and don't want to swap them out at this point since they suppossedly flow pretty well anyway.

Is there anyone out there that has or had this exact setup (or just the b and y pipe)? I am specifically interested in feedback on the interior noise level and any drone at highway speeds. Any clips would be awesome as well. I appreciate all opinions and love the ride more everyday. The VQ engine is sweeeeeeeet!

even with a aftermarket B-pipe, your going to need a shop weld the flanges so that it may bolt up to the mufflers.

They dont normally sell just the B-pipe by itself, your better off going to a muffler shop and get it custom mandrel bent.

Sorry I sold my Bpipe about 3 weeks ago. Good luck

I'm running the full setup but would be interested in running jst the y and b pipes with the reg mufflers

then just go to a muffler shop and have them cut off the magnaflow mufflers and weld on your oem ones

Hi boiler725. I installed a cattman b-pipe and left the stock mufflers on my 08 and I love it. The interior sound is not loud and there is no drone. When you step on it, you know you've made a mod. If you're just cruising along, there is virtually no interior noise.

Can't say I have....but interesting post though!!!!!!!

Thanks for your feedback! I had a catback on my previous SUV and the drone at 70 was nasty. I didn't know what the result of taking out the huge resonator and putting in the Cattman would be but it sounds like it's not a big deal.

What?

Cattman sells the b-pipe by itself and it BOLTS right up to the stock y-pipe and mufflers.

op: this would be a sound, not a performance mod you do realize correct?

a cheaper way to get more sound for free is the ol screwdriver through the muffler a few times. works like a charm!

Understood...I'm planning on adding the y-pipe eventually as well. You're right though the screwdriver treatment would definitely be cheaper :smash:

If I had the y and b pipe would the stock mufflers prevent any relevant HP gain?

Bad info again? B-pipe is a power adder...not a crazy amount, but what is on a n/a car.

i do not have them yet, but i just purchased a cattman b-pipe and the racingline y pipe is in the mail...i have called and talked to cattman and he said that his b-pipe alone would give about 5-7hp and would improve on the sound, not giving it a "ricey" sound but a more throaty sound, which is exactly what im after...and i cant wait for the racingline y, which is said to bring in 13hp 14ft/lb torque as well as improve the sound somewhat...im excited!
