Finally lowered on Progress!!! Pics...

So after riding around on my new rims and stock springs for about 3 months now i finally got around to (got some cash, LoL) buying my Progress springs and install them. I really like the way it came out. It's just the right height and give my car a really nice and mean look. I went by my brother's shop and had them installed this past weekend and got a really good deal on the install price (he does not own the shop or it would have been a free install, LoL). Let me know what you guys think.

Sorry about the dirty rims didn't get a chance to hand wash this baby since it became cold in NY.

Na i didn't roll the fenders. Those are 20" TSW's didn't have to roll it. I think if i had bigger rims i prob would have to.

The next mod is most likely gonna be cosmetic. Thinking of getting the black LED's, but gotta save for that. I'm hoping my fiance get it for me

Torgus 11-25-2008 07:02 AM

looks decent. how is the ride quality?

Apollos2 11-25-2008 07:11 AM

Looking good bro. Let me know what you think of the ride with those Progress and 20in rims. You should also notice it tighten you up on the turns. I always felt the stock springs gave way to much roll even on with the "SE" sports package.

Oh yeah, no more dirty rim pics...:smash: LOL, congrats, enjoy them.

6thgenblackmaxx 11-25-2008 07:19 AM

hows it feel man? that was a great day lowering my ride..sooo nice, looks awesome

ILL-Maxima 11-25-2008 08:30 AM

Thanks for the comments guys. Well so far the ride quality has definitely more ridged and stable. Definitely better than stock springs. Like Apollos said, it's tighter now. The only thing i have to warn people of is with 20"s rims and low profile tires when going over very bumpy roads, especially in queens it's definitely a bit more of a bumpy ride. But i was expecting this with lower springs and 20" rims with 35 profile tires. I'm gonna be switching back to my stock rims for the winter. Those are 55 profiles, i'll let you guys know what the difference is.

silverbeast2004 11-25-2008 12:26 PM

I just bought them direct from Progress... i should have gone to Brian from Cattman. So i ended up paying $230 something. I think if you buy em from Brian they're $50 cheaper. It was a spur of the moment buy at like 3am in the morning, didn't wanna wait for the next day.

KCMAXX 11-25-2008 03:40 PM

They'll settle a little more over time...

Now get rid of the 4x4 sig. Check PM.

ILL-Maxima 11-25-2008 07:34 PM

Thanks for the sig KC. Lemme know if you can do the other one.

Hello there, nice ride, looks much better, did you have any issue with the alignment???
I found in another forum some people had problems with the alignment.
Another question, what are the chances if I lower the suspension will I get the nasty SHIMMY problem????

Thanks.

My alignment was off a little after the install, but my brother already knew that it would be off so he did an alignment right after install the springs. So far as to shimmying i had no probs with that. Rides awesome!

Gollum67 11-26-2008 03:33 PM

Looks good. This will probably be my next mod. Anybody here running on H&R springs? I have the chance to get these with a substantial discount.

Now murder out the grille:laugh:

chernmax 11-26-2008 08:04 PM

Looks great, should look even better once they settle under normal driving and load.

NY04Maxima 11-27-2008 04:53 PM

This ride is gorgeous bro. I like those TSW rims - I will either get those or a set of Nismos.

ILL-Maxima 11-27-2008 10:35 PM

Thank guys appreciate the feedback. I might be getting some performance shocks the ride is a little bumpy when going through these effedup streets in queens. The only reason i kept the stock shocks was because my car is still under warranty and if those shock were to blow i'll get them replaced for free. So i'm kinda stuck in a middle ground. Do i get the better performance shocks and if something goes wrong with them i gotta stand the expense for a new shock and installation or do i stick with stocks until my warranty is over and then get the better shocks??? :gotme:

vqaltima 11-28-2008 05:05 AM

Nice.

Man you're not kidding, "rough riders" How are you dealing with your rough ride on the these effedup streets? What shocks are you running? Also was your rearend bouncing around a lot? Mine is, whenever someone sits in the back they're complaining the ride is really rough going down bad roads. The front is not too bad though, just the rear.

I have heard nothing but complaints from anybody who rides with me. Now with the kid in the back sometimes I wonder if it was all worth it. The handling is amazing but I would in no way do it again, NOT IN NY. I am lowered on Progress with GR-2s and 40 profile rubber. The ride sometimes is unbereable due to the kind of streets/highways we have here.

trackstarz04 11-30-2008 01:30 PM

Wow looks great but sorry to hear about the ride quality. Wonder if anyone has this problem with eibachs??

Car looks 100% better. Looks really nice.

In my opinion, Eibachs ride better than the progress due to the (ironically) progressive nature of them.

If you want a better ride in the back consider spring spacers. The shocks are probably getting close to bottoming out. Run the rear tires at a lower PSI (no lower than 30).

Really? What price are you looking to sell them at?

These sping spacers, where do they go? At the base or the top of the springs? Also if i put spacers would that also raise the back up a little?

They go underneath the spring. The whole idea of a spring spacer is to raise the car.

What I did was cut a spring spacer in half. This will also level the car out perfectly!

At a Checkers or Kragen's as well as autozone should have them. They cost about $10.
