ABS Sensor TSB NTB07-016b, what I figured out
OK this if for people thinking about doing this (sorry no pictures). I did this process due to the issues with the ABS activating when it should not. I got no codes and no error lights.
The TSB can be vague in regards to how to remove the hub so I thought I would share what I found, but as with anything do at your own risk.
1. The parking brake does not have to be removed from the knuckle to clean the hub and sensor
2. The senor can be remove with one bolt behind the knuckle and cleaned by itself if your lazy
3. The hub is held on by 4 bolts in the back of the hub and once unbolted can be removed leaving the parking brake attached to the knuckle. It comes straight out due to a lip that engages the knuckle. I threaded the 4 bolts back into the hub only half way and from the back of the knuckle; hit the bolts with a hammer. I had 3 plus years of rust so your’s may come out easily….
4. The parking brake is held on by two bolts located near the bottom of the back of the knuckle by the parking brake cable. The parking brake is held on with one bolt located between the two. You’ll need to remove these if you want to grind a drain slot.
5. To easily remove the parking brake (make sure it’s disengaged); remove all three bolts on the back discussed in number 4, remove the top and bottom springs (the top adjustment cam will come off and is held on by the force of the spring), the two standard screws holding the pads with the springs need a quarter turn to remove. Once all that stuff is off, look at the lower cam attached to the brake cable. You should be able to disconnect it now. Lastly remove the back plate. This process beats the HELL out of what the FSM wants you to do to disconnect the cable.....
You still need the TSB for the process but what I wrote above are things that I would have found helpful

Hmmm... got my car back in '03 as an '04 model... I always get different stories depending on who I talk to at the stealership... since my car is no longer under warranty, I am assuming the cost wouldn't be covered in spite of the TSB?
