Hot weather ... + Tuning

I'm thinking of putting some extra hours power on my 04 SL but the problem is the weather. It hot already and the tempreture goes to 50 + C in the afternoon !!!:eek:

What do you advice me to do ...

K10 05-24-2009 07:36 AM

I would like to tune up my max but I'm afraid that the weather will be a problem.

What advice do you recommend me?

What problem does the weather present?

NiZMo1o1 05-24-2009 10:31 AM

When you mean "tune" you mean modding peformance parts on your car I assume ?

In the states when you say "tune" were thinking Dyno

so your getting 50C thats about 122 Degrees F ?

I would say Cold Air Intake , you will still be pulling colder air in from the outside than inside your engine bay.
Cat-back exhuast
NWP Spacers

I think he means hes using some sort of UTEC to tune his car but is having air/fuel issues since its so hot out where he lives?? That was my interpretation of what he said anyway.

For the air intake I will try Fujita as most of the members are using it

for the spacers I have read some articles and I think it will be fine to install it and I need to buy a new UIM gasket

Its only May we still have JUNE - JULY - AUGUST !!!!

I will capture a picture for the tempreture !!! today it was 48 C

You will NOT need a new UIM gasket cause the one NWP supplies eliminate it.

trackstarz04 05-25-2009 09:51 AM

I have checked their web they have these staff for my Maxima:

- VIAS Block Plate Kit - FWD VQ35DE
- VQ35DE FWD Phenolic Intake Spacer Kit - FULL
- VIAS Block Plate Kit - BASIC - FWD VQ35DE

Will I get better performance if I bought the three items?

regardless the price

Huh, thats where my gasoline money goes?

NismoMax80 05-26-2009 08:36 PM

so who can prove to me the air (for "cold" air intake) by the tire being pulled in from where exactly is any cooler than the high pressured air smacking in between the hood and grille that is forced into the intake?

You will definitely get better performance with the NWP Thermal Intake Spacers and the VIAS Block Plate Kit. Both of the VIAS Block Plate Kits you listed do the same exact thing. The only difference in those kits is that one of fully machined with a raised logo and looks absolutely beautiful. The other one is a basic version with the logo engraved instead of in raised lettering.

It's like living in AZ... Your body gets use to it and the cars around there are made to withstand the heat. You'll be surprised how how it gets, especially if you're not use to it.
