2005 Maxima - Headlight Flickers then goes out

Hola,

What do you think this is? My headlight "goes out" the other night. I turn on and off the lights and it comes back on, flickers, and then goes out again. If I turn the lights on/off, it will come on but only for a minute... flickers and goes out.

I have a 2005 with 34,000 miles. Do you think its the bulb or something else?

If it is the bulb, where's the cheapest place to get them

JB

It could be 2 things (either the bulb or ballast). 1st before assuming anything check the headlight connection to be sure that nothing is loose. Then I would take the bulb out and try it on the other side. If it works fine on the other side, then it's the ballast thats messed up. If the same thing happens on the other side, then it's probably the bulb.

That was my plan this weekend... to switch out the bulbs and see what happens. I dont think its a loose connection as once its out, its out. It does not come back on. It also goes out w/i a minute or two if I am just sitting in my garage w/o hitting bumps.

since your removing your headlights, i recommend just buying new HID bulbs from Operatic on the Group Deal area. Upgrade to 6000K or 8000k HID bulbs.

I believe they are $50-$60 for a pair. They fit right on to our factory lights.

Huh, i should get commission for this.. lol
