Aluminum radiator INSTALLED!!!! With pics!!

Sorry for the delay, fellas. To recap, I had a Mishimoto aluminum radiator custom made to fit our car. The benefits to aluminum are reliability, better cooling, and it looks great. I dont believe this is available from Mishimoto yet, but I understand they are in production now. If I hear anything Ill let you all know.

http://www.mishimoto.com/aluminum-ra...rformance.html

I took pics with the factory air scoop both on and off. If you have a short ram intake, the radiator won't be as visible with the scoop on. With a CAI, you wont have the scoop on and the radiator is very visible and looks really sharp.

Here are the pics:

I havent checked to see if there is a actual temp drop compared with stock radiator. Its also been cool here lately - no 90+ degree days yet. I think the reliability factor makes this product worth it.

Install was done by a local Mishimoto dealer. I had them take pics of the radiators side by side but they havent sent them to me yet.

I just bought a 2004 Maxima does it really need this? I am in Arizona and I came from a Porsche 911 air cooled to the water cooled car. The Porsche needs the cooling, does the modern Maxima need it or is it just over kill?

I think the strongest point for buying an aluminum radiator is the reliability. No plastic parts to crack.

Did you retain the coolant overflow tank, or were you able to rid the car of it? Seems to me that with a system that is more efficient, there would not need to be a need for this. Are you still on the stock T-stat or did you take this time to upgrade this also. Thanks, I appreciate the feedback.

Overflow tank is still there. Stock t stat too. I may go for cooler t-stat.

I wish I knew. When I do know Ill let everyone know. Until then, perhaps check Mishimoto's website.

I actually did but it needs a good cleansing. I usually keep it pristine as you know

Need? No. But it will def. make your engine last longer...and for those with FI, this is a priceless mod. Want is more like it. This is NOT for everyone, but for those of us, yes I am getting one, the benefits far outweigh the need factor.

Digital, im still waiting too. Has been a while since any updates. I emailed a few times, but Mishimoto doesnt seem to email back, not even the generic crap. lol go figure. They make one for my SRT-4, but not for the Altima V6/Maxima.....yet, if ever.

Its not that anything is being hidden. It takes companies some time to produce the parts after the prototype has been made. Meanwhile Im lovin the shiny radiator

How is the cooling? Have you noticed lower temps? Stock t-stat? Wonder if they will also offer a t-stat similar in design to the one they sell for the RWD VQ. Would be nice.

I have stock t stat. When weather turns hot, then Ill find out how it cools. It certainly will be more reliable than stock radiator.
