6th Gear

Hey guys,

As I have been driving around recently, its been gettin a lot harder to get the car into 6th gear. It seems like I have to force it into gear. I was curious how it'd act when the car was off and still, doesn't like to go into gear. I really noticed this last night and then this morning goin to work.

damn... im goin to flush the tranny with RL MT-90 and see what it does. one thing i noticed was that if i shifted it manually by hand by turning the lever or whatever its called by hand itd shift for the most part. only thing i added to the tranny was the nismo short shift adapter from nissan a few years back.

if your not grinding in gear , and its just a issue getting into 6th , I would check that adapter , if its the one that you add to the shift linkage on the tranny ?
I would check if it has any play , im not sure if they got bushings on them cause Ive never seen the peice before.

it could be just that since we dont use a shift rod like the 4th gens,

sorry ive missed this. this past weekend, i completely took off the adatper (2 Piece) on tranny bell housing side and one on the shifter. still same problem.

another thing ive noticed is that if you force it a little bit, itll go into 6th but when you get out of it to go a lower gear when exiting the freeway, you have to wobble it a bit and then itll finally go it to 4th or 5th.

I used to have that same problem on mine too. sometimes i would just drive like 30 miles on 5th because it wouldnt go on 6th. but i havent had that issue in a while now.. its weird.
