Updates to my maxima

I've done a lot of updates to my max recently and over the past year. Up until now, I've just been too lazy to post pics and updates:o I recently had the B&M transmission cooler installed last weekend. I changed my rims to MSR 087s 20x7.5 rims back in June; they weigh 25.9 lbs each. I also installed the JET MAF sensor, R2C intake, NWP Phenolic spacers and NWP block off plate earlier this year.

Also pictured are the front, front right, transmission, and rear motor mount replacements along with the NWP phenolic spacers.

R2C intake

My friends at Mech Tech in Baton Rouge hooked me up with a custom bracket that keeps the transmission cooler off of the condenser. The bracket holds the cooler from the top, bottom, and left side.

Thanks all. I'm actually looking to get the Racingline performance precats done soon. I currently have the Cattman headers but have had issues with the CEL staying on, and cracks around the rear header in the 3 to 1 collector; I have that section welded twice already.

how do you like the R2C intake?

I also have the R2C for more than 4 months and no complains from me, i love it

I love the R2C intake as well. The roar of the intake is more refined than the Fujita plus I don't really have any loss on the low end either.

Question , in the pic of the tranny cooler , I hope that hose is not feeding into the oil cooler,

you typically need to feed it from the bottom so that it fills from the bottom and return from the top, hopefully you have it setup this way or whoever installed it did it like that,

I have seen some people feed it up top and return on the bottom, this is very wrong and will cause oil starvation , not fluids and will end the tranny / oil coolers life.

if you had flips the cooler with the ends both facing up , you could have used either way to feed and return.

with the fins running vertical , i mean.

thats fine how you have it , just hope its feeding from the bottom and returning from top.

I called them this morning to double check. It's set up correctly with the cooler being fed from the bottom and returning from the top. Thanks for the advice, NiZMo1o1.

ok good ! just to be safe , ive seen rookies DIY on other cars , they *think* feeding up top then towards the bottoms is the right way to do it, which is wrong.

keep up the good work !

what are your impressions of the JET MAF?

MIKERNM1990 10-30-2010 10:07 PM

what dyno you have?

The car's throttle response was more responsive and I gained some low end back, especially after the NWP VIAS block off plate. It wasn't a world of difference though, but noticeable.

@MIKERNM1990: I haven't had the opportunity to dyno it yet. I will in the future after I get my transmission issue resolved and eventually replace the Cattman headers with Racingline Performance precats. That's going to be sometime next year. The reason for the dyno would be to send a data log with my ECU to technosquare for a flash down the line.

More like 10.8 until this damn transmission gets fixed:( I haven't done a 0-60 time on it yet. I'd like to do that some time in the near future.
