My wheel offset pictures with 10 and 15mm spacers

I don't see many offset pictures for the 6th gens, so I'm just throwing mine out there so people looking for wheels or spacers can get an idea of what they're looking for. I am dropped on Progress springs with KYB struts and shocks.

This is with 20x8.5" +42 wheels and 245/35/20 tires all around. :007:
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15.../Maxima200.jpg

This is the same setup but with 10mm spacers in the front and 15mm spacers in the rear (and bald tires lol). Effective offset is +32 front and +27 rear. In order to run this setup without rubbing in the rear, I had to cut off the fender liner that covers the rear bumper mount, which you will kind of see in pictures of the rear wheels facing the rear of the car.

As a test, on the passenger side I switched the spacers so it was 15mm in the front and 10mm in the rear (+27 front and +32 rear).

Here is the 15mm rear.

And here is a test fit of a 20x10.5" +30 wheel on the rear. Looks like I got some work ahead of me lol. If I can't get it to work, off to Craiglist they go...

Nice comparrison! It should help 6th gen guys.

joecurr 02-16-2011 06:57 PM

Thanks bro. I figured I might as well since I've never really seen good pictures of wheel offsets on 6th gens, just people telling other people what offsets to use without clearly showing what it looks like. That might have helped me in choosing a better offset for my first set of wheels (and staying away from the sunken battleship look lol).

AtlsKingofBk 02-17-2011 11:30 AM

i know the feeling my offset sticks out but i have spacers on stock springs that helps.

phatboislim 02-17-2011 11:37 AM

those new wheels....PUT EM ON QUICK lol

Even with my suspension right now I feel like it might be too high to pull it off.

I'm trying! Lol, weather sucks right now though, it's been raining all week. That, and I'm hesitant on what size tire to put on, not sure if a 255/35 will be enough stretch to fit.

Me too. Just not sure I can pull it off with this car since it seems like nobody has tried. Not everyone's a fan of the VIP style, but I'm glad at least one other person is lol.

I'll probably get flamed but I don't care, they are XXR 521. They look good enough and I don't want to throw more money than I need to on wheels since I daily drive this car and average almost 20k miles a year. I first saw this wheel on my350z.com and always wanted them, but in 20" they were only available in flat black. In 18" they also have colored faces with machined lips, and I always told myself "I'd buy them if they had the black face with machined lip in 20." Low and behold, some shop had some made in "black chrome" (painted, looks like a dark gunmetal) and from what I've seen is only selling them on eBay, so I went by my own word and got them. The specs are 20x8.5" +32 and 20x10.5" +30, and I will be running the fronts with a 10mm spacer to make it +22.

RAZ76 02-26-2011 08:04 PM

Can you slap those 20x10.5 wheels on the front and take a pic for me?? I want to see how far they stick out, thanks dude.

Staggered357 02-27-2011 06:43 AM

I don't think a 255 will cover that stretch a 275 will def but a 285 would be ideal, I am running a 275 in the rear on 20x10 with a + 41 and I have no issues... I had a 255 on that 20x10 and did not like it all...

KevMaster 02-27-2011 10:51 AM

Hey joecurr, what spacers you have as 10mm and 15mm? I assume hubcentric but what brand?

mrkhone 02-27-2011 03:47 PM

damn that looks good. been wondering what offset i can go with for a hellaflush look

LOL, as luck would have it, I went out to try the wheels again and realized my dumb@ss left the wheel lock key on the wheel lock when I put my stocks back on. Now I have to order and wait for another key. :tardsmash

I'm assuming you are talking about a 275/30? That would definitely not fit my application. I mounted the 255/35, not sure if I'll be able to get it to work.

Yes they are hubcentric. They are the H&R DRS type which includes extended studs to replace your stock ones.

Depends on how far you want to go. I probably would have been better off with 20x10" +30, but I'm set on making this work.

I bought a full set of tires but only mounted one side because I wasn't sure about the sizes. I mounted a 255/35 on the 10.5" and a 245/35 on the 8.5, which I might need to change.

With this setup, my rear tire seems to have rubbed on either the rear bumper or the fender where the two meet, on fairly large dips and when making a somewhat hard right. One thing I noticed though is that my rear right wheel was toeing in a bit, so that MIGHT have something to with it. My fenders are rolled but may need further modification. I'm planning on getting coilovers to adjust height and dampening to see if that can keep me from rubbing, so I'll fix the toe then so I don't have to pay for two alignments. I might also get a rear sway bar if that would further keep the body straight.

KCMAXX 02-27-2011 06:50 PM

In for better pics.

Im leary of the 255 on the rears. I have 255's on my 20x10's and they're a little stretched.

Tirerack shows a 255/35 fitting an 8.5-10" wheel MAX.

Breaking the bead would be a constant fear on the 10.5's.

tookrzy4u192 02-27-2011 07:01 PM

looks good.. i got the same rims but in 18's and different color

Might be waiting a while for new pics lol. The stretch doesn't seem too much, so I think the bead should hold. People around here run more stretch than this and haven't had problems, well, at least the ones I've talked to. Now if I can just get it to not rub...

I saw the other blue max with the black 18's. What color did you go with?

RAZ76 02-27-2011 09:11 PM

So what is the offset of the front wheels?

i went with the hyper silver.. should have them on this week or the next (tires come in thursday)

nyana107 02-27-2011 09:46 PM

might have to stretch the rear some more,.. 245 35 20 maybe? not sure if its a good idea for a DD but it'll fit. a friend of mine from swang & bang ran 245 35 18 on his 18x10.5 setup for his s2k.

With the 10mm spacer the final offset is +22. To have a similar look with a 10" wide wheel in the front you would need a +40 offset.

Hyper silver should go well with your car. Although I like how the black ones look on the other max, I also like contrast between the car color and the wheels.

I was thinking of trying the 245/35 since I have one unmounted, but I'm going to wait to see what happens with coilovers. I also might need to further modify the rear bumper mount, I think I saw some rubber on the screw.

707max 02-27-2011 11:38 PM

I told you they would rub, they do look hot tho.

You need to stiffin the rear springs worked for me as long as im not hauling a ton of ppl in the back seats

kronickz 03-03-2011 11:00 AM

If i were you, I would have went with a 10.5 square set-up. Would have looked hawt. I was going for the VIP look too w/ luxury wheels tho. I had a 245/35/20 stretched on a 10.5 rear wheel which looks like what you need and had no problems at all. As for the front, I had a 225/35/20 on a 9.5" wide front tire. Both weren't that stretched at all so if you decide to go that route, you should. Go for stance and poke! Slam that bih!

I highly doubt a 10.5" +30 would fit in front, it would poke out even more than the rear. I would have to run a pretty extreme stretch and run negative camber, which I really don't want to do in the front since my car is on the road A LOT. Also, the auto transmission is pretty weak (already had it replaced under warranty), I wouldn't want to add more weight to the front wheels. I'm considering tossing my other 245/35 on a rear wheel just to try it out, but I'll wait until I get my coilovers. Do you have close-up or detailed pictures of your fronts? I was also looking into running 235 or 225/35's on the front.

I knew it would rub when I saw them, just a matter of where. I'm trying to setup mine so I don't have to worry about how many people I have in the car. Coilovers will only help so much, but it won't help if I want to go lower, I still need to do more fender modifications.

eBay. I hope you don't think it'll be as easy as throwing them on the car. If you don't do everything necessary to fit this size and offset wheel, it'll look horrible.

Depends on how much you have to roll your fenders. It's not just the fenders though, you'll have to trim your fender liner as well.

Thanks Dnastyct and 707max. Hopefully I'll have everything setup this month. Work and the weather are slowing things down.

kronickz 03-04-2011 06:41 AM

I actually ran a 25 mm spacer on the fronts on my 9.5" wheel which has an offset of about +38 so effectively it came out to be about +13. It sat PERFECT with the 225/35/20 and slammed and it was hellaflush. Sorry no pics tho :(

joecurr 03-04-2011 09:45 AM

You did that and no pictures?? For shame! Lol. I was thinking I might try a 225/35 on the front with 15mm spacers, which would bring the fronts to +17. Even if the 10.5" could possibly fit, I'd rather not for the sake of my transmission. Were you able to drive pretty normally with that setup?

chulo 03-05-2011 10:32 AM

joe i'm running a 225/35/20 on my 20x9's and a 245/35/20 on my 20x10's so running a 225 on that 8.5 won't be bad at all

Grand_hustle17 03-06-2011 04:56 AM

I don't mind a tad bit of stretch, really isn't that harmful unless the stretch is rediculous.... id roll with 235/35 in the front and 245/35 in the rears... shouldn't that poke b an easy fix for the 6th gen seeing as though you guys have IRS... camber it, even more a VIP look
