Exhaust... What to do? What to do...?

So I was scrolling through trying to find a good thread about exhaust options but none really stuck out to me. What are you guys doing for exhaust? What do you think gives the best performance???

What are your goals, we have a lot of options available but what is it you're looking for, sound? performance? looks? because when you say exhaust think Headers, Y-Pipe, Pipe diameter, mufflers, metal types, full cattbacks, custom built!

Trust me I know there are many parts, personally I want a medium sounding exhaust that sounds good, not annoying loud but I kinda want it to sound like performance (I feel like that makes no sense at all) but yeah... and I also want to feel a result in low end power. As for looks I would like to keep it as 4 pipes in the back but that's not essential. AND I could not find good headers online... so what should I do?

See the link in my sig. Maybe that is all you're looking for. Have decent speakers on when listening to it or a set of decent headphones.

Dude, you have to go with a cut out. Keep your stock setup when you want it quiet, (taking your mom to the grocery store) and open for the most amazing unaltered snarling sound from the maximas VQ. all at the press of a button. cheap as hell too. no more then 200 installed

I had a nismo catback and loved it, but now rock a custom 2.5" dual exhaust with borla mufflers and I absolutely love the sound. I will try to post a video later on when I get home

I got the Cattman on mine. But it seems to be way too quiet. I was thinking about removing the resonator, but that seems to be frowned upon here. Any input???

I got the ebay cat-back. An i like it. Had it for a few months now. Not to loud while sitting still. But sound's pretty good when you step on it. Plan on changing my mufflers after i get my use out of the one's that come with it.

Keep it stock. The V6 doesn't give a loud aggressive tone compared to V8 cars.

trust me bro, videos on exhaust sound just do not do it justice... i took a vid of my car with a cut out and it took a lot of coercion of people who wanted to see the result to put it on youtube..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Z-Jgo0PjCY
to tell you the truth, it sounds horrible on video, you need to be there to here it.. this is my clip, but it sounds like crap, if you listen closely you can kinda hear what it sounds like under all the distortion. you can then ask anyone who's ever seen my car in person and ask them to compare, my car grumbles and pops like a nasty V8 but the camera just will not pick it up. at best its picked up 25% of what it really sounds like, my cameras microphone doesn't have the ability to record such low tones.

So what would you buy if the exhaust was rusted and needed replacement? Parts from a cart parts store?

Lol ... a lot... precats + y pipe has a deal going now for $700.00+ ... the cutout is about $200.... the resonator was 60.. the b pipe was almost 250+ and the mufflers were $300.

I am thinking about just doing the power package from Racingline (pre cats and y pipe) and then getting the Magnaflow 14807 mufflers from Amazon. I will leave my stock resonator and b pipe on. That should keep it under a 1000 if I deal shop

Looks a lot better on Nismo4Life's white max imho. I don't know how it's going to look on my smoke color max. We'll see. I'll post pictures when I get it all together. He has the one with the burnt tips or colored tips which I thought looked kinda bad on the website but against they car they look hot.. Can't just a part until it's actually on the car.. (except for those plastic vent things from autozone and walmart LOL)
