95k miles. Tune up and ehat else
Ok. So i have a 2004 maxima sl with jus about 94k miles on it. Im thinking of doing a tune up. But not sure what all i need. I know ill need and prefer ngk spark plugs but exactly what kind. Im going to have a tech here do this work and need to know what parts to get.
Next Also i plan to have the tranny fluid changed but im having a big problem with how and where to do it. I know rule of thumb is if your not sure, save yourself the hassle and take it to the stealership. But i work at a mechanic shop with certified techs and can havethr work done here. If its just drain and fill, i could do it. I hear its good to flush and that its not. So im stuck on that. Also i hear about fluid. In the book it gives you types and equivilents. We here use mercon v which is basicaly same as dexron 3 and the recommended matic d. See the problem is this. I hate to say this but i have had my sl for 2 1/2 yrs. It had 59k on it. I have yet to change the tranny fluid and dont know if its evr had any kind of tranny work. Im the 2nd owner and the car was well kept. And still is. But now ive been having an issue of when i accelerate from a stop my car vibrates through 2nd gear. The harder i accelerate the worse it vibrates. I know its tranny related cuz when i let off te gas it stops. It feels as if im goin over a bunch of ripples in the road when it vibrates. So i need advice on this issue as well.
Last. Since im doing all of the above, at 95k miles what else should i plan or look foward to having to replace? Anything else im missing that i can get out of the way now? Also, since day one i have been using mobil 1 5-30 in my sl. Longest ive gone on an oil change is 5k miles but change anywhere from 3-4k miles reguraly. I just want to say thank you in advance for any and all help. And sorry for the typing. Im on a iphone. Lol
