High idle after cleaning TB
Hey fellas, I got my spark plugs changed today, and while the intake piping was off, I went ahead and had the TB cleaned. We basically took a shop rag and wet it with TB cleaner, and wiped down the butterfly plate, and surrounding areas. It took off A LOT of gunk, and the TB looks clean and new once again.
But now the damn idle is way high...hovering around 1500 RPM in park (and fluctuates between 2000 and ~900 RPM), and when it's in gear, it'll hover around 1000 RPM.
I know there's a certain procedure to reset the idle control? Does anyone know the procedure? Thanks in advance!

I bet you left off a vacuum line or you created a vacuum leak somehow..
Go back and recheck everything...there's no need to reset the idle control if everything is back to the way it was before your repairs.....

yeah i got the P0507 code
I'll try to reset the ECU and what-not tomorrow. Having no garage sucks I hope I dont need to replace the TB (and yes I did open the flap to clean behind it etc)

Yeah same thing here, having no garage sucks big time, get a TB from a salvage for a min and use Seafoam......Good luck man

don't worry, you just have a leak. i know it doesn't seem possible because everything looks like its in place, but it isn't, take it all apart and put it back together carefully and thoroughly.. reset your ecu gas peddle method as this resets everything, and you should be back to normal.

dont get frustrated if you dont get it the first time.
took me a while to do it right.

Don't worry....it will settle down on its own as long as no vacuum leaks there. When I cleaned my TB then it did the same. I was 100% sure I plugged everything back the way it should be so I ignored this and after less than a week, everything went back to normal. I did not even reset ECU. Unless your case is completely different.

ya, use TB cleaner and a rag...
or clean TB on google...
I personally removed the intake collector when doing sparkplugs, and sprayed a full can of carb cleaner everywhere, then a full can of brake cleaner.... looked much better. you should have seen all that black crap.

I found this thread on a search, and I'm just wondering, can either "Carb Cleaner" or "Throttle Body Cleaner" be used to clean our DBW throttle bodies, or are the two different formulations?
I have some Gunk carb cleaner in my garage, but if it's not the right product to use, I'm not opposed to going to Nissan or a local parts store to buy "TB cleaner."
Thx for any input.
