Rough and Bouncy Ride

I shouldn't say bouncy...just a rough hard ride.

My 08 max SL has 95,000 miles on it. 85% of that is highway miles. Beginning of May, I purchased four new tires, shocks and struts, and brake pads and rotors all the way around. The tire size is 225-50/17 by Continental and the shocks and struts are Monroe. My problem is I still feel every bump, crack and crevice on the roads. These are not big bumps or cracks either. It's not a smooth ride at all. What’s going on? What else do I need to do to make by car seem like it's floating, gliding or what have you over bumps and not like I'm riding in a 1950 pickup truck?

OEM struts or aftermarket? press the rear of the car down and then up once, if it bounces up and down on its own after rocking it more than once or twice, something is up with the struts, do the same for the front

I replaced the shocks and struts with Monroe about 2 weeks ago. The ride/feel of the car has not changed. I did not change out the springs. Would the springs make up the difference in the feel of the ride?

your ride is fine. its normal to feel the road. monroe shocks are stiffer than OEM.

springs dont really change, and they rarely go bad even after decades. probably just the feel of the new struts

You have made good choice by going with monroe instead of KYBs because KYBs are little more stiffer than OEM and monroe. Specially in cold weather KYBs become more stiffer. I would say give it a month or two and then you will find some difference or may be you just get used through with it. When I replaced my OEM struts at 110k miles, they were damn stiffer than the KYBs that I replaced with.
