car broke in...suggestions?

My car'07 (pearl-white)was broken in and the F$%^ing idiot must have used a crowbar or some metal to brake the window and now the pillar post is bend. He took my GPS and the tray that sits in the middle arm console with some loose change. (loser) I know some of you guys had put the chrome pillars on your cars, I am thinking of doing the same thing instead of paying over $250. to get it repair. How you think is going to look? (chrome, fiber carbon or glossy black pillars) I only want the center pillars and I had the chrome handles on it already. Any pictures, suggestions? thanks fellows

If I'm not mistaken, I think the chrome pillar posts are just stick ons to the oems.. Your best bet would be to check the classified ads on here and find someone who is parting out.. Def should not cost you half of that.

Sucks about the damage...

Curious, where did you get the chrome handle covers? I've looked around, all I've ever found was the ones that (in the picture) don't appear to have the opening for the lock/unlock button on the 07/08's...

I was hoping it was only the window but the F%^7ing idiot had to use a metal...I got the chrome handles from ebay, attached is the link but you can definitely find them for less

sucks bro, im sorry... im paranoid about break ins where i live so i bought a two way viper alarm (with remote start ) and a new S&W 5 shot semi-auto 12 gauge (i took out the cork).

if anyone breaks into my car, the alarm will not only sound (very loud) but i will know about it, and before 20 seconds is up whoever is in my car will be looking down my barrel.

if he has a weapon of ANY sort, i have the right to protect my home and property with lethal force. so he better drop that knife or screw driver he's using to cut away my stereo or he'll be dropping a head..

i would suggest doing the same.

an uncle of mine in Nevada had his car broken into 6 times. the last time he went out with his gun, the thief pulled out a machete from his backpack, and my uncle shot him. he lived but, needless to say, all the car break ins stopped. police figured he and maybe some of his friends were the ones behind the hundreds of break-ins in that town.

who knows shooting the b*stard might save some other people the problem you now have...

at the very least you could shoot his hands off, i don't think they make slimjim prosthetics

Sorry about the damage but you can always try the local junk yard and see if you can salvage some parts for your ride. It's worth a try IMO, you never know. You might just find what you need.

I always keep my interior stock with nothing of value that is visible. That's one way to keep your ride from being jacked.
