Will I pass smog?

I asked this question in another thread but it wasn't really answered.

I still have 800 bucks to spend on the max. its just burning a hole in my pocket...

Im looking at Racing line Headers with precats

04-08 Nissan Maxma High Flow Pre Cats
Price (usd) $545.00
Introducing Racingline's new High Flow Pre-Cat exhaust systems for the 2004-2008 Nissan Maxima 3.5L V6. Engineered to be a 100% bolt on, these units feature fully metallic core Stainless steel high flow cats that flow more than double that of the OEM units they replace, resulting in 8 HP and 14tq at the wheels

AND

04-08 Maxima Performance Y pipe
Price (usd) $274.99
Specially made using full stainless steel construction, this performance Y Pipe is dyno proven to see gains upto 13hp to the wheels on an otherwise stock Maxima!!

my question is, will i pass smog with these things?

also just for starting a convo here, how do you guys like your headers. what kinda gains did you feel from them? how much louder did your exhaust get with headers or y-pipe, or both?

I have that exact same setup, but have no idea if I'll pass smog or not. I dont think it will pass visual since you remove the 3rd cat, but honestly I don't care if it does or doesn't pass I still have 3 yrs b4 I have to smog my max.

well the 3rd cat is unmetered and won't throw code if its gone. unless the smog tech knows all about the maxima he won't know its gone. what i want to know is if the pre cats in the oem headers are enough. or the precats in the racingline high flow pre cats is enough without the 3rd one.

how significant was the butt dyno when you installed those those things?
what kinda gains could you feel?

If i can't find my answer ill start thinking about keeping the 3rd cat, chopping up and welding it into the racing line y pipe like the stock set up but without that stupid kink Nissan made to limit power.

I read once that a Altima SE-R with the high flow cats and y-pipe passed smog in Cali. As far as butt dyno you do feel a difference especially if you swap both y-pipe and HFC at the same time.

Hmm, you know you'll pass smog because you have a place that will take care of it but you still make a thread asking "will I pass smog?"

So basically what that means is you made a pointless thread disguised as a question so you could be like "HEY LOOK AT ME EVERYBODY! I'M GETTING HEADERS! I'M SO COOL!"

Altima 3.5 headers! Not sure of tranny placements. Likwid has a mt 6th gen and it fit like a glove!! Unsure about auto or cvt.

Hey I.D.tenT's unless you have a C.E.L. illuminated!!!! I don't see a reason why you think you won't pass! My Cattman headers, Wsp Metallic Cat, 2.5" Cattman (Now 3" Cattman Catback) and alot of other mods have passed for @ least 3-4 years straight since ours are annually! Just Do It!!!!!

As mentioned above we have had a customer pass Cali emissions with the Full RL setup ( HFPC + Ypipe) it was barely a pass but still a pass.

would anyone happen to know if its the hydrocarbons that are elevated with the cats gone? or the CO and CO2, or all three.

if its just hydrocarbons i could use a little kerosine, or jet fuel, or racing octane to pass.

@15mph (measured/max)
HC (PPM): 24/52
CO (%): 0.03/0.49
NO (PPM): 416/424

@25mph (measured/max)
HC (PPM): 30/36
CO (%): 0.05/0.46
NO (PPM): 643/711

Running the stock Ypipe during the test will help clean things up a bit more and pretty much guarantee to pass both visual and emissions
