05 max, SE-14 Wheels

Helllo, Been on the .orgs for a little while. This is my 05 max. SE-14 18" wheels from Tirerack, General G-Max AS-03 tires size 255-45-18. oem shocks, struts and springs with 1" spring raisers to even out the front gap. fujita CAI cut into SRI. Moog endlinks, Beck arnley inner and outer tire rods and control arms. new axles. changed spark plugs. Coryxvaier block off plate. 08 mufflers. Rebuilt transmission. The front bumper and grille were redone by Chulo from My6thgen. I love the stock look of the car. now that i have finally fixed all the problems with the car,it drives great. The car is very fun on the road. Makes you feel like you can out run any car on the road at anytime. now some pics.

Not bad but 18's are too small.

looks nice, I like it. and I agree on the wheel size. 18s are a good size for appearance and comfort. I am keeping mine at 18...but I am lowering it.

yeah, its funny I think people forget one of the main reasons people shop for OEM wheels is that they are cheaper than aftermarket. Someone earlier said they don't like buying off the shelf...buying OEM is that times 100. the wheels are everywhere, even if they arent on your car specifically. I see at least a couple of 350z or g35s every day with OEM wheels on them. If I had the choice of aftermarket and OEM that I liked at the same price I would go aftermarket almost everytime.

These wheels were only $585 shipped from tirerack!! I did not want the 19" oem wheels because i wanted the extra meat on the tires. It helps cause my wife drives everyday and its a lot harder to curb the wheels with the wider tires. Also i know i might get flamed for this but im not into the lowered look; that being said hero782 car looks awesome and so do many other maximas that i have seen on here. I will be modding my car a little more soon but nothing too drastic. I wanna do the roof strips black soon and get racingline hfpc. Thanks to all for compliments as well as constructive criticism.

How'd you blackout your chrome teeth? That looks way better than chrome-on-white! Just pull off the teeth and spray paint them?

Thanks! Chulo's shop redid my front bumper and painted my grille black. I think you gotta sand it first so the paint will stick. I love the black grille.

best way is to take it to a paint shop and let them prep and spray it. If you want to do it yourself there are a few write ups around here. I gave the plastidip method a shot this weekend because prep sanding all those surfaces is tedious and supposedly plastidip sticks without it. we will see. worst case I jacked up my grill that was already peeling chrome so I am back to where I started...a grill I want to replace. if you decide to pray it yourself I highly recommend getting one of these...

it sounds stupid but your finger gets tired after a few coats and you end up with uneven coats.

Yeah, the 18's look a little small on there in that style, maybe just lower the car and it will help it out
