Of all things, the sunglass holder doesn't ease open, it springs open real fast. I'll have to pull it down to see what's broken, is there anyone that's encountered this problem, is it typically a whole assembly that's got to be replaced, or could it just be an out of alignment spring?

Well i took mine apart before. There is a "slow" gear that provides resistance against a spring. Typically when a gear built for providing resistance breaks, you cannot fix it, must be replaced. However, you can take that little spring out to keep it from flying open.

Just beware, because its one of those things where its simple, yet extremely difficult to mess with. well anything with a spring that must be coiled before assemble makes things difficult.
